We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise Castille and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Denise, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I suffered a massive heart attack in 2015. There was one other person in the office with me, Marie. Marie knew exactly how to respond in the medical emergency.

There were several things I wanted to do to celebrate my survival — all of them took a backseat to my desire to teach as many people as I possibly could what they should do in an emergency.

I obtained my Basic Life Support certification and subsequently completed the requirements to be an American Heart Association (AHA) instructor and eventually becoming an AHA Training Site. As a Training Site I get the opportunity to mentor other instructors.

I named the business Any Day CPR Training because I thought….any day is a good day to learn to save a life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Any Day CPR Training, LLC is a full service CPR, AED and First Aid Training business. What sets us apart from other CPR businesses: we are mobile and can come to businesses, we issue cards at the end of class, and superior customer service experience.

We are most proud of a babysitting program we have created, Be a Better Babysitter. This program is loved by all who attend. We are excited to be putting the finishing touches on offering the program as a turnkey additional revenue stream for CPR instructors/business owners.

I got to where I am business-wise by taking some risks, watching and learning from others who successfully do what I want to do. It has not been easy. It has been challenging. To overcome the challenges I have carved out my own niche, like Be a Better Babysitter.

I’ve learned that having a mentor is important to have when it comes to accountability. Seek constant feedback from customers, competitors and employees. Cashflow is king — if you don’t know your numbers you will go out of business.

I want the world to know that learning CPR is important. CPR is a life-saving technique that, is easy to learn, helps maintain blood flow to the brain and and heart in an emergency situation. It can save your life, your children, parents, or even a stranger.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show them the best time ever I would take them the stockyards in Ft. Worth. We would board the train in Grapevine to the stockyards. We would shop and eat at the stockyards. This would be an entire day.

Brunch at Breadwinners. Can’t have a trip to DFW without a visit to the 6th floor museum at Dealey Plaza complete with the trolley tour. A visit to reunion tower for the city views. Dinner at Perry’s Steakhouse for their famous pork chop.

A visit to the Dallas Arboretum for breathtaking views and lunch. Tour the house used in the Dallas TV show. Murder mystery dinner at the Fair Park.

An entire day at Six Flags Over Texas.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A huge gigantic shoutout to my number 1 cheerleader — my mom, Shirley Castille. My mom encourages me to go after and achieve any and everything I set my mind to. My mom is finishing the requirements to become an instructor to help even further in the business.

Another shoutout goes to Brady McLaughlin. Though I haven’t known Brady McLaughlin very long he is an incredible mentor. Brady McLaughlin is an AHA Training Center and CEO of Trio Safety CPR+AED. My CPR business is aligned under the Trio Safety CPR+AED training center as an AHA training site. Brady holds monthly one on one growth strategy sessions that help me immensely to focus on what’s important.
