Meet Courtney Craig | Co- Founder and Lead Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Craig and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting Lively Luxury Designs came from a desire to bridge the gap between high-end interior design and quality construction. I realized that clients often struggled to find a team that could not only design a beautiful vision, but also bring it to life—seamlessly and professionally. So, I created a brand that merges both worlds: where design meets execution.
The name itself reflects the heart of the business. “Lively” represents personality, warmth, and vibrancy. “Luxury” speaks to curated, elevated living. I wanted to show that luxury doesn’t have to be cold or untouchable—it can be expressive, bold, and approachable. We make people feel something when they walk into their homes.
A huge part of the inspiration was seeing how overwhelmed people were when trying to put their spaces together—especially those who had taste, but no time or plan. I knew we could provide not just beautiful design, but real peace of mind. Whether it’s mood boards and sourcing or full-scale remodels and styling, we take the vision all the way to the final reveal.
At the core, it was also about building a legacy—something beyond a side hustle. Lively Luxury Designs is meant to grow into a full-scale design house, a brand known for its elevated edge, client experience, and ability to truly transform how people live in their spaces.
What should our readers know about your business?
Lively Luxury Designs is more than just an interior design and construction company—it’s a brand built on the belief that your home should reflect who you are at your best. We specialize in creating custom, elevated spaces that are not only beautiful, but deeply personal and functional. What sets us apart is our ability to merge luxury interior design with high-level construction execution under one roof. Our clients don’t have to chase down a designer, a contractor, and a vision—they get it all in one place, seamlessly.
I’m most proud of the transformation we bring to people’s lives through their spaces. There’s nothing like seeing a client walk into their finished home and feel seen—like the space truly reflects their lifestyle, taste, and story. I started Lively Luxury Designs with a clear mission: to make luxury feel personal, and to take the stress out of what can be an overwhelming process.
Getting here hasn’t been easy. It took a lot of sacrifice, learning through mistakes, and pushing through moments when it felt like too much. I’ve worn every hat in this business—designer, project manager, marketer, even cleaner when needed. There were times I was juggling client installs, late-night design boards, and growing a team all at once. But I kept going because I knew what I was building mattered.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of staying in alignment with your vision—don’t let temporary obstacles make you shrink. Keep showing up, keep refining your craft, and stay obsessed with the experience you’re giving your clients. Relationships matter. Consistency matters. And trusting your instincts is everything.
What I want the world to know about Lively Luxury Designs is that we’re not here just to decorate—we’re here to elevate how you live. Our spaces are bold, layered, soulful, and unapologetically custom. We bring the “wow,” but we also bring the heart. And we’re just getting started.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d start with a luxe welcome dinner at Monarch in Downtown Dallas—there’s something about the views, the design, and the energy there that feels like a kickoff moment. After dinner, maybe a rooftop drink at The Thompson Hotel to settle in and soak up the city.
We’d spend the morning walking Highland Park Village—the architecture and boutique curation is designer heaven. Then head to Arteriors Home or Blueprint for home decor inspiration. Lunch would be at Rise nº1 for something light and chic (and those soufflés!). End the day with a little home goods browsing at CB2 or Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams or Restoration Hardware.
We’d dedicate a day to curated shopping: NorthPark Center (designer stores + museum-level art inside), followed by an afternoon spa session at Hiatus Spa or The Joule. Then glam up for dinner at Town Hearth—that chandelier-over-the-motorcycle moment is a whole vibe.
We’d end the week with Sunday brunch at Sadelles —somewhere with pretty plates and even prettier ambiance. I love their Lox Tower for brunch. Then a stop for matcha or coffee at Lala Land, maybe even a little Target or Trader Joe’s run (because what’s more comforting than that?), and send them off inspired, relaxed, and already planning their next visit.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely. I want to dedicate my shoutout first and foremost to my business partners and to my family. We all play a very specific role in the company and it would not run without them. Kelly is operations where she makes sure everything is scheduled and expectations are met for our clients. Our husbands Dustin and her husband Daniel are huge reasons to our success as they have always helped with the reality of the construction and problem solved. Also to the women in my life, especially my mother, who showed me what it means to lead with strength, grace, and vision. The idea for Lively Luxury Designs wasn’t born in a vacuum—it was built on the backbone of encouragement, hard lessons, and a deep belief that what I had to offer was valuable.
I’ve had mentors and peers who reminded me that design is more than aesthetics—it’s about impact. I’ve had friends who pushed me to bet on myself, even when the path felt uncertain. And honestly, I’ve had clients who trusted me before I even had the brand fully built, and that kind of loyalty lit a fire in me.
I also want to shout out the clients-turned-family who kept showing up for consultations, referrals, and even just words of encouragement. Without their support, I wouldn’t be building a company with this kind of vision and momentum.
Lastly, I want to acknowledge the team behind me—especially the people who believe in Lively Luxury Designs not just as a brand, but as a movement to help people live beautifully and boldly. They make the mission feel real every single day.
