We had the good fortune of connecting with Cody Grubbs and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cody, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued photography and filming, because of the way it capture memories that will last forever. And because I find it as a stress reliever, to just go around and take pictures, and make videos.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What im most proud about of Grubbs photography/filming is that I started it from scratch. I started with just a phone, and in the past year I have built my small business and portfolio to what it is now to get clients. It was not easy to start at all. The difficult part was getting your work out there. I just kept going out taking pictures of everything I think would be a good picture, and then I posted it online.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot in the city is the stockyards. In the stockyards the mule alley is the place to go, the amazing hotel drover is there. And you can’t forget about the biscuit bar. Then if you want to just sit out and hang around, the perfect spot for that would be the second rodeo Brewing.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First I want to shout out my mother for putting the camera into my hands when I was younger. Then I want to shout out my former teachers, Coach Arthurs, Mr Garza, for teaching me what i know now. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. Then I would like to shout out don mills and forest dean, because of the chances they have given me to learn from them. Then I want to shout out my father for supporting me with all stuff I have learned and that I have done.
