We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Austin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
“The carousel never stops turning.” Life gets busy and we forget to slow down and enjoy the small everyday moments and before we know it, they are gone. I have gained an immeasurable amount of gratitude for the small everyday moments and use my work to capture the celebration of everyday life, from brand new tiny moments to once in a lifetime milestones. My work provides a visual of each individual’s unique and incredible story that holds a deep connection, full of love and emotion, giving my clients something precious to look back on.
I look forward to getting to know each and every individual and/or family so that I can portray their story in a way that they can share to the world or simply cherish in the sanctuary of their own home.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
While I have always loved photography, my passion blossomed when I realized just how fast precious moments with my two daughters seemed to disappear when they grew straight out of my arms. I’ve gained so much gratitude for the small moments and getting to capture these invaluable moments for others is what I was meant to do. I pour my heart into every session from beginning to end. Being in front of the camera can be nerve racking, so I do my best to make sure others feel comfortable. I bring an energy that makes my clients laugh while coaching them through poses. I live to take an image and then breathe life into it so that others can see the love and emotion a moment can hold. I look forward to serving the metroplex of DFW.
I believe my success stems from my passion and desire to push myself creatively, I take the time to deliver quality over quantity. I overcome challenges by just staying positive and taking every situation not as a loss but a learning experience. Art is interpretational and it can be easy to constantly compare yourself to others. However, I have learned that you are your biggest obstacle. The best way to learn from others is to support their successes! After all, we all started somewhere, and gatekeeping is a thing of the past! I have gained so much knowledge by simply reaching out to others in the trade for guidance.
My advice to those building a business, is to start with something your passionate about and stay consistent. Find motivation within yourself and keep your heart open to others!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For a hiking trail with a waterfall view, check out Marion Sansom Park in Fort Worth. If you’re up for the drive, visit Fossil Rim in Glen Rose to see some amazing animals and then go, take a walk around Big Rocks Park and don’t be afraid to get wet! Trinity Park is a great place to ride bikes and nearby there is one of the most incredible playgrounds I’ve ever seen called Dream Park.
If your ever in South Fort Worth check out these areas in Burleson! If you love shrimp tacos, I’d suggest visiting the Catch and if you’re in the mood to do some shopping visit the market emporium, or the shoppes on Broadway in Joshua.
There are so many places for everyone to visit but for me, these are some of my favorites!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Hands down, my shoutout goes to my husband and my two good friends, Emilee, and Allison. My husband has always believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Our young girls keep us quite busy, and his support has given me the time to pursue my passion. Without him my business would not be where it is today.
Emilee owns Barbed W. Digital Designs where she designs .PNG designs and digital logos. She is also a full- time mom of three. Emilee has such an incredible drive and does not let anything hold her back. In a world where things are dark, Allison is a beacon of love and support, there isn’t a thing she would not do for
those around her. She has the biggest heart of anyone I know. If friendship had a price tag, theirs would be priceless.
These three people are just amazing individuals, and I am so grateful to have them in my life.
