Meet Chris

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Having not just the structure and motivation to do something but the discipline to follow through with it everyday no matter the circumstances. Having a family to provide for is motivation to not fail and to grind harder than ever. With our first born Mylah I have two girls in the family I need to take care of. My wife and now our daughter.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ll combine both my Professional Athletic career and my Business Corporate career into this one.
What sets me apart is my calculated aggressive style I’m both in athletics and business. My integrity is never compromised and I pride myself in having two gears. Stop and go!
Getting my pro card in two sports was not easy at all. It took sacrifices that range from sleeping in a car and eating next to nothing and also losing tons of friends and relationships I thought I needed.
In my business career I think of everything as an athlete and I go into work aggressively all within following the parameters of the business model.
I overcame my endeavors in my athletic career by never compromising losing hope of my dream of being a pro athlete. I learned what it’s like to have grit which I think is important. How it would be lesser to sacrifice the gift God has given you. Later in my career in cycling I was blessed enough to embrace my faith. It was then I saw that sometimes those who I thought had it easy truly didn’t. I was working hard and those with less skill and hard work were doing better than me. Until i understood something. This my hit deep but I’m an honest person so I’ll say it anyway… I believe that sometimes the devil allows people to live life free of problems because he doesn’t want them turning to God. There sin is like a jail cell, except it’s all cozy and comfortable. It makes you feel like there’s no need to ever leave that cell even though the cell door is always wide open. Until one day that cell door shuts and then it’s too late. I felt that way for a while but I was fortunate enough to run out of that comfy room in a time when that door almost shut on me. Once I did, my hard work and dedication only showed through His beam of light.
If I want anyone to know and learn anything from my past, it would be to turn to God sooner than I did. If you can truly save yourself and believe all things can be done through price, and you can turn away from your sins and have a beautiful relationship with him that all of your life goals can be achievable, no matter how difficult the circumstances and how impossible things may seem.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since my wife and I are relatively new to the DFW area, there aren’t a ton of hidden gems we know about yet. But if I had to give a small list of places, people should definitely make an attempt to visit here on a weekend trip for example I would say the first place you gotta attend is the stockyards in Fort Worth. Fort Worth has a Rich history in cattle country and western lifestyle. The stockyard is a really great place to take family and friends and it has a really fun nightlife. A great place to come to if you’re in town with family would be the Dallas world aquarium. It’s not necessarily an aquarium, but it’s got tons of really great exhibits and it’s really unique and interesting. Fun for all ages. If you enjoy making your own mix of margaritas and want to bring them home or have a mix of your own when you’re attending a fun safe area you have to try Mr. froze margarita in Saginaw. The customer service is incredible and the environment is fun. If you’re looking for a great place with a view to take your significant other on a date night head out to Branch and Bird. You definitely have to visit the obvious places beforehand to get all your Texas and western wear outfits together for a night on the town. If you want a big warehouse selection style of western fashion, you have to go to the Boot Barn. With tons of fair prices and generally and most so great customer service you can find pretty much all you need to find. And also if you happen to be in Arlington, that’s where I work and that’s where you’re going to get elite level customer service that will give you what you want and need without feeling pressured and hassled like I am a used car salesman trying to make a deal.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a core group of people I want to shout out and they will forever be the reason for why I am and who I am today. First and foremost I will always shout out my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without him and the relationship I have with him I wouldn’t be in the beautiful situation I am today with my family, all things can be done through Him and he can and does work in incredible ways.
Shout out to my beautiful wife who is the most incredible human, she brought me close to Christ and is an inspiration. A beautiful wife and mother.
Lastly shout out to my Mother, Father and big Brother. My saint of a mother taught me how to have warmth in my heart and to always be who you are. My father and brother the hardest workers ever. The dedication from those two helped me have grit and determination through all of life’s endeavors. Couldn’t be more thankful and proud to be a son and younger brother.
