We had the good fortune of connecting with Charline Orozco and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Charline, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
More than one… Here are the most important lessons I have learned through creating a graphic designing company. -You don’t have to know everything to start. -Learn as you go. -Don’t be afraid to fail. I have learned more through my mistakes and have become more humble because of it. -Do it. Even if it’s not popular, if you genuinely enjoy what you do, do it!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In 2019, while I was in school, I decided that I wanted to earn income. For some reason, I never liked the idea of having to go out and get a “typical job”. I wanted something that I could call my own and do whenever I wanted to, however that would also mean that how much I made was dependent on my effort and return in the products/services I provided. In this case, it was logos, brand creations, and QR codes. OrozcoGraphics.com has now expanded into a more diversified service rink that has helped start-up companies and established brands with content creation, social media insights, and advising. What I am most proud of is the authenticity and honesty that I strive to provide to each of my customers. I love helping them create the brands and styles they wish to identify their brands with, I believe it is an essential part of creation and human beings to identify themselves with assets and features that represent them and their company. I believe how I got to where I am today (concerning the growth in customers and sales) professionally was through (1) honesty, (2) providing quality value, (3) consistency, (4) discipline, and (5) hard work. The most important out of all of these factors is never giving up, always improving, and staying consistent. I believe these principles are universal to any occupation, career, or field. Regarding a service-based company, like mine the second most important factor is communication! Quality communication, respect, and top-service to the customer are ESSENTIAL! I love treating my clients like royalty. While I may not always be up to par, my number one desire is to consistently provide high-quality service and communication with each client. Was it easy to grow? No. There were some challenges and still are new things that I have to learn as I build this business. One example was the learning process of business structures. I had to learn how to automate certain parts of the business to have higher speeds of delivery and service for each client. There were a lot of things I was doing manually that I realized could be reduced through automation. I overcame the challenge by becoming more aware and honest with myself about the things I needed to change within OrozcoGraphics.com to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the company for the customers. I realized the need to be MORE than okay with change when it is meant for higher efficiency and customer satisfaction. Adaptability is key. One thing that I would like for the world to know about Orozco Graphic Designs is that my main purpose for creating this company is to continue to bring value into the lives of business owners, scaled companies, start-ups, and personal brands; To help individuals who may not have time or aren’t necessarily inclined to do the dirty work of creating their brand, finding their brand’s voice, and increasing their presence to current and potential clients through their brand (logo, website, social media content, etc.). OrozcoGraphics.com is here to inspire, inform, and help captivate the audience of each client.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My Favorite Spots in the City!! A Week Long Trip (I assume it’s 7 days- so let’s go!) *Summer Trip! Day 1: Klyde Warren Park, take the Trolley (for free!) and go workout (because it’s fun-duh!). Day 2: Eat at Andalous Mediterranean Grill and walk in the Mandalay Canal. Day 3: A Saturday at Bishop Arts- for the best Instagram Wall art pictures. Day 4: Visit the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden Day 5: Six Flags Over Texas | AQUAMAN & the scariest ride they have! Day 6: Visit Mary Kay Cosmetics, network with individuals, and visit the beautiful Carrollton Town Center and eat/sit outside. Day 7: White Rock Lake | Paddle Boarding!! Day 8: My friend decided to stay because she realized, Dallas was fun.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The person that I would like to dedicate my shoutout to would be Gary Vaynerchuk. He is also known as @GaryVee on the internet. When I was in high school, I would listen to his Youtube videos a lot! His words of wisdom have shaped me into who I am today. He has helped me to trust and believe in myself and to think outside the box. I love how Gary talks about being yourself, not caring what people think, and doing what you want. I think if it weren’t for his Youtube videos, I wouldn’t be where I am at today. Believing in my dreams and genuinely doing the rough work to get there (i.e.: prioritizing my time for what I want, improving my craft, and meeting individuals who are looking for a graphic designer and brand developer for their content). One quote that I like from Gary Vaynerchuk is, “Effort is grossly underrated.” – Gary Vaynerchuk
