We had the good fortune of connecting with Charity Meregini and Timothy Abengowe we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charity and Timothy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
As young adults, we tend to take more risks. I think risks are necessary for personal development. Whether we endure a successful or unsuccessful risk, we are able to learn and strategize for the future. Risk has definitely allowed me to be more open minded and versatile, especially when it comes to business, school, and relationships.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
North Texas Sneakers (ntx.snkrs) is a standard shoe plug company based in Dallas, Texas providing merchandise within the United States. We are currently solely operating online. Our mission is to provide our customers with accessible, affordable shoes. We have embarked on this new venture to add a sparkle for those who want to upgrade their fashion sense, or for those who want to continue expressing their love for sneakers.

Even though we are starting off a little slow, we got to where we are now by consistency. We had a plan, and were dedicated enough to be able to execute it. It has not been easy having multiple competitors as well as being able to easily accommodate customers. We have learned that the most important factor behind success is consistency. You cannot have the mindset that “I’ve failed” when having one bad day. As well as, “I’ve made it ” because you have had one great day. It is important to be active, and open minded when it comes to success. There is always room for knowledge as well as growth.

We want our customers to know that you are heard. We know how frustrating it is to see your favorite sneaker being sold for two, or three times as much as retail. We want you all to have access to your favorite shoe at an affordable price.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start off by taking them to Deep Ellum. Deep Ellum has numerous food spots, bars, and a great view of the city. The people, and the energy has always passed the vibe check. I would then probably take them to downtown. AT&T Discovery District has great views, and restaurants as well. I also like to do adventurous things like hike, and kayak. If the weather is good, I would definitely take them to White Rock Lake.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shoutout to @Solelinks which has become a beneficial source to our company. They provide us with numerous sneakers info that has allowed our company to progress.
