Meet Britani Mansell | Owner & Esthetician of The Experience Spa

We had the good fortune of connecting with Britani Mansell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Britani, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My intention was to always have my own spa. My dream was to always create a space that I could pour my authenticity into fully without fear or boundaries of someone else’s vision to honor. I wanted relationships, safe spaces, no rushed appointments, work life balance, conversations, vulnerability, I just wanted to be able to be me. After 2020 everything changed, my eyes opened and my fear left. It was a hard year with not only what the world went through but my family as well. With this I had a testimony of Gods healing, grace, love, comfort and promise. I knew I had something special to share and I was ready to jump in. Which is how “The Experience Spa” came to be.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I feel what sets me apart mainly is my passion for people. It’s not just that I love what I do but I love what I do because I get to create little glimmers for others all day. I get to make their day just a little better. I get to reflect the love, comfort and grace that I’ve been given to someone else. Choose a career you’re passionate about and you truly will never work a day in your life. The plus you will be successful because you love it and you put time into things you love. The biggest lesson I have learned is just to be ME! It’s easy to scroll and aspire to be like this or that. Putting pressure on yourself to measure up, but we are all different and living in different stages. Being inspired is wonderful IF it encourages you to just be a better YOU not someone else. I hope anyone that I encounter feels a little lighter and brighter.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the harbor so many fun things to do and just walking around at night with all the fountain lights against the lake is beautiful. I love Book Club Cafe, Fable and Fire and Eggsquisite if I’m in a coffee and food mood. The vibe at Vidorra with its smokey flavored salsa is one of my top lunch/dinner spots. Along with really an of the Mexican/Latin restaurants they are all soo yummy. Wades landing would be a great option for a variety of options. Going downtown for any event is like a Gilmore Girls episode the town really goes all out especially for holiday events. Concert by the lake is always a good time with great cover bands! Lots of charity events always happening that’s fun! Almost of them are evening events giving us a chance to get a little more formal with attire which who doesn’t love getting all glam every once in a while for a fun night and great cause.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
PJ Talcott hired me 8 years ago. She loved me and spoke highly of me to everyone. Was always answering questions as she helped me find my footing. Gave me tips on connecting with clients and filling my books in down time. She was a blessing in that season. After her retirement Kimberly Wallace was my mentor and with her guidance I grew my clientele substantially in just a year. She was always supportive, collaborative, engaged and cheered me on. From that formed a beautiful friendship that we have today and I’m so thankful to know such an amazing selfless person will always be in my corner. Heath Hair Salon and Spa gave me my beginning and with that I will forever be thankful.
