We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Briana, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Transparency is something that means the most to me. I find that people in our world LOVE to use the word transparency but hate what comes with it, and oftentimes, are not very transparent themselves. Being transparent to those around me and to patients who trust me with their skin is important to me. I want people to trust me as I want to trust them.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career as an Aesthetician and Laser Technician has been eventful! When I decided to pursue Esthetics, it was inspired by my desire to create a safe space within the industry for multicultural skin types. I felt as though with every facial I had received prior there was always that fear about what my skin can or cannot endure. Instead of being educated on why I may not have been a candidate for something, I was just told it was not for my skin type and never given alternative treatment options or the why. That experience alone really discouraged me and made me feel quite alone in the aesthetic world, but I used it as motivation.
I dedicated myself to mastering aesthetic treatments for multicultural skin! It has been a wonderful wild ride, and while there are challenges along the way, I believe God provides me with the tools to overcome those challenges and continue to create a positive experience for every single individual in my treatment room.
I want the world to know that we all have voices and can use them to turn a negative experience into an incredible opportunity for oneself.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a huge foodie and love to admire art. The Dallas Museum of Art is one of my favorite destinations in Dallas. The opportunity to view the art and stories of thousands of pieces from recent times and old times is so honoring. Not to mention, the amazing restaurants nearby. Mi Cocina on Klyde Warren Park and the food trucks are always a great time and easily is my favorite food and drink spot in Dallas.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate this shoutout to my partner, Colton Jenkins. I have grown so much in such little time we have been together. He has seen me at my lowest and has been supportive and present as I work to reach my highest. Colton will tell me when I am wrong and commend me when I am right. As an entrepreneur himself, he has provided me with the knowledge and care his mentors have provided him.
