We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandy Glover and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandy, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
I’m currently reading, Photography History, Art, Technique by Tom Ang. It’s an informative book where I’m learning about different photographers from the past and their stories. The impact that I’m receiving from this book is that they weren’t worried to much about perfection but about the story being told the way they’ve planned it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am Professional Photography that is focusing on story telling. I started with Fashion and Beauty Photography but I’m seeing my journey going more towards story telling. What set me apart from others is that my art is from me and no one else, I’m reminding myself daily that it’s just one of me my thoughts are solely mine. I’m proud that I decided to pick up a camera again after being a makeup artist for almost 8 years. I’m excited that I’m starting my journey with photography again and all of the learning experiences, with a clear vision and no outside noise from social media. I’ve gotten where I am today with just going out and doing what I love, refusing to feel held back or that it’s to late. No it’s not easy at all, it’s very expensive so you have to work with what you got. I’ve also been dealing with Imposture Syndrome a lot lately but that just comes with the territory of entering into something as a newbie. The best thing to do is to reaffirm yourself and have an amazing group of people that are cheering you on. The lessons that I’m learning is to write every visual that comes to mind down in a journal for future shoots. While editing if I hate the way the image is looking, step away from it and come back to it when you’re ready. I am reminding myself that I am good enough and that photography is where I’m meant to be. I want to the world to know that I’m coming so keep your eyes open because I’m coming in silently and letting my work make the noise.Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would for sure take her to my favorite restaurant Lounge Here, they have the best food and drinks. I enjoy going to the Dallas Art Museum it’s just my favorite place to be than we would eat at Moxie’s afterwards. Honestly though, knowing my best friend she will have a full itinerary herself on what she wants to do and I’ll just be the one taking her to those places LOL.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am recognizing my friends that have shared their time with me with perfecting my art in photography. Because of all of you I am able to grow more and more. This is a shout out to all of you!
