We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandi Hayden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandi, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I believe self-care and beauty make people happy and happiness is a vital part of life. I strive to help others feel amazing about themselves so it is my mission to give the best manicure they’ve ever received, because I make sure to give them exactly what they’re looking for. I enjoy letting my creativity go wild, however, what really makes me truly satisfied is giving my client what they know will make them feel amazing. I don’t ever want someone walking out without it being spectacular. This is what makes me happy. I know a lot of people have had not-so-great experiences at nails salons, because I myself was one of those women. It really saddens me when a nail tech can be fine with a customer walking out unsatisfied. I want to be the change and show others that there are nail artists like me who will be there for them and also travel to them, in hopes to make it convenient for them.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is that I am self taught and always learning new techniques and styles for my nail artwork. I am proud that it didn’t take me long to build my skills. Art was something that I put away for many years to focus on regular jobs that I was unsatisfied in. However, I can take skills from other jobs and incorporate them into my business. I really am all about helping others and putting them before myself so that has stuck with me through it all. It was hard at times and it was very important for me to stay positive and confident in myself and just never give up. If something wasn’t working, i wouldn’t give in to the negatives, i would just find another way to do it and speak to myself with kindness. My advice is if there’s something you want and have a passion for, then go for it, make it a career so it never feels like work, but instead like play.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a fun-filled day I would take them downtown Dallas to see the Pedestrian Bridge, then visit the wonderful animals at the zoo and then the gorgeous flowers and plants at the arboretum. Another day I would take them for a drive to fort worth to visit the stockyards, then enjoy a night of dancing at Billy Bob’s. On a Sunday morning, would go to the Farmer’s Market and enjoy some mimosas, take them to my favorite brunch place First Watch, then take a drive to the Fossil Rim Safari in Glenrose in the afternoon.
Another day would be fun to go to Eataly and enjoy one of the places to eat there, go to a comedy show at Four Day Weekend, then enjoy a night out and get great food and drinks at Katy Trail Ice House.
For a relaxing day, I would visit Virtuvian park on a day there is an event or live music and go sight seeing.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would really love to give a special shout-out my fiancé’s mother, who is practically my second mom. She has let me go wild on her nails in order to showcase my work. She has helped my build a business from the ground up and given me so much useful advice and tips. If It weren’t for her, I’m not sure if I would’ve believed in myself as much. Also, thanks to my amazing family and fiancé for their support and giving me honest feedback and guidance so I can be who I am today.
