We had the good fortune of connecting with Bevan Makaka and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bevan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Time after time, I have taken calculated risks in the business arena that lead to great success and opportunities which may have otherwise been missed. This calculated risks definitely pushed me beyond the comfort zone and tremendously contributed to achieving things they I never thought possible. However, there are many times where I was presented with the possibilities of failure when taking these risks. Failure can be and was so discouraging in many facets and did lead to setbacks, but because of my positive outlook of life in general these failures provided much valuable learning experience. By taking risks and experiencing failure, I was able to gain valuable insights and learn from mistakes, this ultimately led to future success. In short, taking risks can be both rewarding and challenging, but the potential rewards have always outweighed the risks.

Running Xcelerate Enterprises a company subdivided into Fuel Logistics, Sales, Mining, Entertainment, International Music Promotion, and I.T Training and Development has directly and indirectly molded my business acumen and ultimately impacted the way I think and has set me apart from competitors. I cherish all moments in my business life, but I am most proud and excited about accomplishing realistic goals and constantly looking for ways to push beyond my last achievement. What sets my business apart from others is having a clear and compelling vision and mission statement that guides Xcelerate’s business’s decision-making and strategic planning. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a natural foodie, outgoing person, and Dallas seems to satisfy all of my cravings. Every week I hang out with family and friends at Legacy West Plano for either breakfast, brunch or dinner, so far, my favorite restaurant is Fogo DeChao, I love this place because of their Brazilians experience (all you can eat meat) followed by Haywire where we hangout on the deck, eat drink and listen to live music. recently I’ve also fell in love with this Italian restaurant called Toulouse, if you ever go there, ask for Meno a server that became a friend, their food is so yummy, at par and prices are far reasonable. I also love hanging out by Lewisvile Lake this place is around the corner from my residency this means I can easily get back into nature, sit by the fireplace (during the night), feel the breeze, relax till I lose track of time and before you know it, I find myself having a quiet, peaceful moment to reminisce on business strategic moves.
