We had the good fortune of connecting with Attica Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Attica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind All things Attica is to share with people some of my favorite things like jewelry, coffee mugs, and journals. I’ve always been told I’m a good gift giver and people love my jewelry so I just want to share things I would give as gifts with everyone.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So All things Attica is my baby I do work a full time job and sometimes those two things do go together. So one of the challenges I faced was I was always up for a promotion and kept putting my business on the back burner so I had to have a serious conversation with myself. So I decided to step down and nurture my business and now I have the flexibility to put more time into my business as well as the position now allows my to network and stay on top of my customer service skills.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So one of my favorite neighborhoods is the Bishop Arts District there is a really dope vegan restaurant called Vegan Food House (and I’m not vegan) the food is amazing, then we have to have a cigar Cigar art and there’s a cute bar next door where on Sundays you just might get some live music. We would definitely go to North Park Mall for shopping I remember when it was small so now to see it’s growth and all the amazing store we would shop til we drop. One of my favorite hotels is the Statler Hotel there is a prohibition bar in the basement and you have to know how to get in because it’s a secret. Before they leave Texas we have to make our was your Fort Worth to check out the Stock Yards and eat at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So I come from a family of entrepreneurs from my grandfather with multiple business one being a neighborhood store, my mother at one time owning a very successful catering company and my sister opening a coffee shop while going to school. So it’s in my blood to own my own business and inspire others to do the same:
