We had the good fortune of connecting with Antania Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antania, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
When I was in grade school, every morning the school would huddle in the gymnasium. The Principal, Mrs. Odle, would speak into the microphone and provide the morning announcements. Before everyone left the gym, she would have us recite, “Good, better, best. Never let it rest until your good is your better, and your better is your best!” At the time, this quote had very little meaning to me as a child. I think I enjoyed the fact that we all said this in unison every morning before school. As I grew up, I was reminded of this quote at the most random times. It also came to me in the moments I felt the most challenged. I knew I couldn’t give up and I had to give my best. When I was faced with trials, I had to see the best in the situation. This quote means a lot to me as an adult, because it helped to shape my perspective and outlook on various areas of my life-I’ll never settle for less than the best!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a Mult-Platform blogger, writing about the arts, entertainment, travel, and beauty are just a few of the things I enjoy. As much as I love to talk about these things, deeper appreciation can be found in my writing. At any point, a reader can get an article on any of those subjects. Since this isn’t a one-subject-focused blog, it can be challenging if I’m not organized. One of the key lessons I’ve learned is the importance of consistency. Make sure you’re publishing articles multiple times per week. Not only does this help with traffic, but it also connects me with with more subscribers of my work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First of all, my best friend isn’t invited to visit that long! Haha. I’ll try my best to entertain before it’s time to send her packin! I’m totally joking, I wish she’d visit more often. Once she lands, we are heading to Crescent Hotel for high tea. There’s plenty we have to catch up on. In recognition of “Taco Tuesday”, we would grab “Nashville Hot Tofu” tacos from Velvet Taco. No visit is fun without shopping, so a visit to Dillard’s will certainly happen. Lastly, we’ll pick an area to explore, but I’m certain I’ll choose that we go to Bishop Arts to eat at a restaurant that looks like a house. I can hear her saying, “Wow! This area looks just like Broad Ripple back in Indiana!”

…I thought the same thing!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to the Indianapolis Public School system. Washington Irving Elementary #14. “From the east to the west, school #14 is the best!” Thank you, Mrs. Odle for instilling “the BEST” in us.
