We had the good fortune of connecting with AMY HENDERSON and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi AMY, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to have something of my own to where I was able to use my creative process freely. I wanted to have something I could handle and enjoy without over working myself. So I made sure these things were accomplishable.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a pole dance Coach. I’ve been doing this for a very long time. I’ve talking the world pursuing this skill. I was the first Miss Texas Pole Star. I’ve worked with thousands of people from around the globe. I’ve always wanted to have my own studio, I just wasn’t ready. You see what a lot of others go through running a studio and I just didn’t want that stress. Thanks to Covid, it kicked my ass in gear because I had no where to pole for my clients and I didn’t want to teach for anyone else. That made me start my studio, Star Status Studio. It’s an all inclusive pole studio. We accept EVERYONE! Here we focus on pole skills bringing out the best in everyone.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend was here for a week, I definitely take them to go eat. We’d eat a Thai Lao Express, Red Claws, Yardhouse, Uncle Julio’s. Then I would take them to the gayborhood and we would have to go to Round Up, TMC, Havana’s, Marty’s and finish it up at The Tin Room. If it’s Saturday, we would have to go to Mister Mister got a drag brunch or Sunday at The Virgin for another drag brunch.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
