We had the good fortune of connecting with Juliana Oliveira and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Juliana, what do you attribute your success to?
Throughout the years of running an interior design firm, adapting to the ever-growing consumer while going beyond expectations are definitely the most important factors to the success of the brand. We always put our clients first by leading each project to ensure they have a worry-free experience that is executed as flawlessly as possible. Throughout the process, we ensure that our process is fully executed and with our full-service capabilities and vendor relationships we aim to far exceed expectations which heightens the overall design and client satisfaction.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the proud owner and principal designer of Beyond Interior Design, a full-service interior design firm focused on globally inspired luxury exclusively curated for each lifestyle. We aim to deliver quality solutions and service to residential and commercial projects through our distinctive design process and long-lasting vendor relationships. As a Brazilian native who comes from a history of architects it is important that the design elevate each space to enhance overall health and wellness while complementing its bones. In terms of the ups and downs, I think everything good doesn’t come easy. Entrepreneurship definitely is a testament to that, however, after surrounding yourself with the right team, partners and clients it’s definitely worth it. There’s no secret sauce in terms of overcoming challenges, but periodically self-evaluations and knowing there’s always room for improvement definitely allows you to grow and keep the momentum of your business steady as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely start the day with an early morning cycling session at White Rock Lake. The ride is super enjoyable especially with the amazing views and calming atmosphere. We would freshen up and enjoy a proper Southern brunch at Hatties in the Bishop Arts District followed by a stroll around to do a bit of local shopping at the boutiques. Then perhaps, enjoy our spa day appointments at the Joule Hotel with plenty of time to enjoy their underground indoor pool. Lastly, we would have dinner at my favorite restaurant, Tai Tei and start with a lychee martini and order the chef’s sashimi special. Then if we are feeling up for a night cap, we will head over to the Midnight Wrangler at the Joule Hotel.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When my business was tested among a series of trials and tribulations, one individual that didn’t give up on me nor the significance of Beyond Interior Design was one of my team members who happens to also be my sister. With her honesty and boundless sense of creativity, Sara Oliveira, has really helped me gain the internal insight that I needed to evaluate my business and strategize how I can truly accomplish long-term goals and maintain sustainability. Also – from a design perspective, many people don’t know that I am a science junkie and a huge advocate of preventive health. The insights that I continue to learn really mentor me to create systems and materials that support biophilic design and a more human-centric design at work and at home.
