We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Vickers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always wanted to have something to call mine. When the birth of my first child happened in 2014, I was going through some really hard postpartum issues and I needed an escape. I turned to YouTube and thought, “Huh, I can do that!” So I started my YouTube channel and talked about everything makeup! And I felt like something was missing so I added making cocktails! Then it took off from there. I had my channel and my clientele was growing by the year! I was a working makeup artist! But in 2020 when I had lost most clients and all will to work. My husband turned and said “Why don’t you just make your own?” So That was my lightbulb moment with my cosmetics company.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am different from others because I am a mom that loves makeup. A lot of moms get a bad rap or feel bad because of not wanting to taking care of themselves and being self less for their families. I want to show moms and other women how important and selfless it is to want to put a little time or effort into yourself. I had a rough time in the beginning of finding out who I am besides “Mom”, or Scott’s wife.” I needed something to be internally proud of myself for. My biggest passion was makeup and I really enjoy parties! So I wanted to create something that other people would love to use, and something EASY! Yet, make everyone feel beautiful in their own skin.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were to come visit we would go to Dallas! I love cities. My best friend lives in Houston and we share the love of large cities and fine dining. We would first start at brunch in highland village at the BEST place for drinks called Bistro 51. Then we would go to the arts district and visit some museums or see what the latest traveling designer show is. We would also have dinner somewhere with a rooftop patio and cold drinks! There is so much to do and so little time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Husband, Scott. He has been my true companion in this journey. He encourages me daily and is my biggest cheerleader along the way. Also, Since he is a very successful business man he Is my go-to person when I have any business related questions and I can always trust his judgment.
