We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Castaneda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well, I decided to start my own business because I’m a Fine Artist and waiting for galleries to sell my artwork was taking to long so I had to always relay on them. So one day I decided to sell my own artwork and the only person who I will relay on would be myself. In the process I started selling prints and clothing with my artwork printed on it. Thanks to that I started innovating my store and build my own website.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
While I was working in my business I decided to study a master course in Fine Arts. In order to become more professional Fine artist. Thats something I’m very proud at because now I had learned so much and my painting skills are gettin way better. Also I started to study art marketing and it had been so helpful for my sales. Soon I will start an art history course.

Thank ti my mother I’m becoming a professional artist. One day my mother teach my sibling and I how to create a business. For several months she was guiding us how to build hour own business. It was very hard because in the beginning I didn’t understand how to manage my own business. I learned to be persistent and never give up because is not easy is always a level of difficulty in the things that you want to achieved.

I would love to the world to know that things are hard in life and is okay you can take break small or long break. But never give up. Because I’m that person that if I failed I take a break analyze my situation a come back stronger than ever, more creative and innovating.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I will take them to an art gallery, then walk around the city and after BBQ restaurant with country music. In my view one of the most interesting thing is show people the culture and their surroundings. I believe you learn about culture by going to the local places, walk in the city, go to park and then have a fun time at night in a local place with local music. I like to see, learned and understand the place I in. It helps a lot for my cultural learning and for my artwork.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents, nany, my boyfriend and his parents. Without all there support it would be very hard for me to accomplish all my dreams. Because I had bad days where I wanted to quit because it was too much hard work to build my own business. They advice me and push me to keep working for my goals.
