We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Brannock and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think there are a lot of factors behind my success. One if the biggest is my love for what I do. I think the clients I serve and their providers can see just how much I love my career and how much I love my client.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a birth worker. Which means I work with birthing families. I have a few differences roles within the birth worker community. I am a doula and childbirth educator. I teach classes to expectant families to prepare for the birth of their baby. As a doula, I provide emotional and physical support to women during labor. The longer I’ve stayed in this career I’ve grown and expanded. I now train new childbirth educators and doulas and help to support them during their career. I love being able to help families but I also love getting to support the professionals and helping them have amazing careers.
As with any new service based industry, the beginning is hard as you build a name for yourself. But I think going and doing 120% and truly loving your job has helped me to stand out.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love my little town! We have the best and fun little stuff to do!
We’d hit up all my favorite restaurants. Sugarbiscuits, Beehive Cafe, Loco Coyote and Riverhouse Grill.
We’d visit some of the fun activities, big rocks park, dinosaur valley state park to see the tracks, dinosaur world, and fossil rim
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Donna Ryan fir creating an amazing childbirth curriculum. Also, for creating and amazing organization build on love and support.
Hollie Hauptly for seeing Donna’s vision and continuing it.
My family for helping with my kids while I’m a birth.
My kids the reason for everything I do. They deal with mom missing out on things but love and support me still. They are the hero’s.
