Hi Amey, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Personal customer service has been the key to my success. In a world where we are all rushing around and sometimes feel like we are just “a number”, we tend to feel like customer service is dead. I am a customer as well and I truly appreciate when a company makes me feel like my needs are important and they take the time to satisfy those needs…sometimes going above and beyond my expectations. My goal is to make my customers feel they are important to me, because they are!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others…… I think the love of pie has been lost, to an extent, and I can understand why. Most of the time pies are readily available at grocery stores. Those don’t even compare to a from scratch, fresh baked pie. When you go to a bakery or restaurant (dessert menu) pie is rarely an option. Pie is amazing! Pie options are endless? The flavors, the visual style. the temperature…hot, cold, room temp. So many varieties!

All of my pies and cakes are baked fresh. Typically all are made the day of pick up. Doesn’t get any fresher than that. I set myself apart by being able to personalize pies. I can keep them simple and natural with a nice lattice crust. Or I can jazz it up with beautifully colored pie crust flowers, or write a special message on the pie (with crust). I can customize a pie or a cake to fit your special occasion,

I’ve learned everyone enjoys pie, when given the opportunity to eat a fresh baked pie. Young and old! Kids love my cookies and cream pies or chocolate pies while adults love them all.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to entertain at my home. I feel a relaxed environment with good food and conversation can’t be beat!

I love to make my friends feel like that have entered a resort when they come over. I love to garden and my backyard is always an oasis of flowing water features, flowers and a wide variety of plants. That along with swings, hammocks and amazing food….you can’t go wrong. Grill, chill and swim during the day and then movies with homemade popcorn and games with delicious homemade treats at night. All in the comfort of their favorite stretchy pants and t-shirt (haha!).

To go out, for a change of scenery, I keep it pretty low key. An amazing patio to enjoy a fresh lemonade and some amazing pita with humus is always a winner. I try to find small business establishments. I feel those offer the best customers services and food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My customers! They have all truly been amazing. Honestly, they have all been great to me. I truly feel like many of them have become my friends. I wish I had more time because I’d love to chat more with each of them and get to know them better.

It is an honor to me that so many of them share their stories with me. Many tell me about their kids, their pets and how my pie or cake made their special event even better.
This is what makes me want to do more and be more!
