We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanpreet Randazzo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanpreet, how does your business help the community?
I deeply believe in paying it forward – we can do well and do good in our community. Early in my career I had wonderful managers who mentored and sponsored me, taking it upon themselves to help me succeed. As such, I have taken that same approach by building a diverse and talented Practice and ensuring my team is personally and professionally successful. First, we invest within to ensure my staff and therapists can do their best work on behalf of the community. Second, I was raised to give back to the community and support those in need. Covid-19 hit our world and my community needed help. I launched Mind Matters DFW, a nonprofit initiative that serves those with little or no health insurance so that anyone struggling with mental health needs like anxiety and depression can get the help they need.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Growth comes with a lot of patience, pain and sometimes failure. Giving up was never an option, my school motto was Never Give in! The truth is that life will test you and obstacles will have to be overcome. The only thing you control is your attitude, your motivation, and your belief in self. If you have the passion, the strength, the support of your community and family, you will learn from your mistakes and grow. AR Psychological services was launched almost a decade ago. I was the only clinician, and I had a single office suite to work in. Within 3 months we had already started growing. I was told to dream big and I never let adversity or barriers slow me down. When I first launched my Practice, I was faced with a lot of dilemmas and I made a lot of mistakes. Today, 10 years later, I look back and reminisce about the very mistakes that taught me so much and helped me grow AR Psychological Services into a successful multi-office Practice. Who are we: AR Psychological Services provides high quality assessment, diagnostics, therapy, and consultation to the North Texas Community. Our highly qualified clinicians bring a diverse set of skills to our practice, allowing us to meet the needs of a variety of clients from all walks of life. What truly sets us apart is our approach: we believe that achieving health and wellness requires the alignment of mind and body. Our practice focuses on building a healthy outlook through introspection, understanding how our thoughts drive feelings and actions, and learning how to harness thoughts to feel better and act with more purpose. Our work empowers individuals, couples, and families to embrace challenges as opportunities and build strong connections with self and the world around them. We set goals with our patients for their personal and emotional development to achieve the balance they seek. As the team grew, I was very conscious of hiring a diverse team so we could meet the needs of the various clients that reached out to us for services. Today we are a team of 16 clinicians who have worked diligently to grow the maintain the standards that we commit to. The on-going COVID-19 pandemic was threatening the mental health & well-being of millions of Texans. In May 2020, The Kaiser Health Foundation estimated that 1.6 million Texans have lost, or will lose, their employer-based health insurance as a result of COVID-19 job losses. With more than 1 in 4 Texans without health coverage, critical mental health needs are going unmet for men, women, and children in our community – our neighbors. And so Mind Matters DFW, was launched. A fund of The Communities Foundation of Texas is reducing barriers to quality mental health services in North Texas. Services offered by clinicians at Mind Matters DFW will expand our ability to provide mental health services to those hit hardest by the pandemic, mostly low-to-moderate income individuals and people of color. We continue to stay positive and move forward and that truly give me pure joy and happiness. And finally, I always think of this, the words of mahatma Gandhi: Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
