We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrianna (September Seventh) Sargent and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrianna (September Seventh), what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?

As an artists and entrepreneur, I’m often faced with tough decisions. One of the most difficult being passing up my dream apartment. Taking the unit would have meant a decrease in pay the artists and/ or losing our venue for the 1st Gather Music Fest. I opted to move home in order to invest into the vision I was given.

No sacrifice. No reward!

What should our readers know about your business?

Gather Music Fest, an annual benefits show set in late September, invites attendees to explore and support the Dallas-Fort Worth music scene. Proceeds from the event are funneled back into the organization and commission a number of creative and community driven initiatives, such as The Gather Micro Grant (anticipated to launch in 2025).

Our vision is to establish a household name throughout the metroplex and, one day, perhaps, the world. Gather Music Fest will have a reputation for being one of the most safe, fun, inclusive, and organized community events.

I’ve gotten this far by building my own platform and then giving it to others! I never plan to perform at our annual Music Fest. It’ just kind of contradicts one of our core values: selflessness! My opportunity will come when it comes, but this my chance to GIVE opportunities!

I’ve learned that failure is not real and success is a myth. The definitions are is too vague to hold weight one way or another, so a fear of failure is really just the fear of deprecated self-worth based on your own opinion of what success is “supposed” to look like.

I want the world to know that it’s ok to take risks, it’s ok to not know how it’s all going to work out, It’s ok to start late, and to have no idea where to start! You really do matter! I know it sounds lame, but I promise you, you are whats missing. Do that thing!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

My best friend loves coffee shops and early mornings, so we’d be up at the crack of dawn ordering out signature favorites at some adorable locally owned cafe. I personally love The Wild Detectives and La La Land!

We, also, think we “know art”, so we’d probably be off to the museum. Maybe a cool pop-up, or the good old DMA!

We’d probably be hungry at this point and if Im being honest- we still need to hit up some thrift stores, so we’ll either grab a quick pastry or hit up a drive through (I know! I know).

The next day is for dancing and painting outdoors, getting some cute sunny pics, and maybe going for a swim!!

My best friend is an introvert, which means the next two days are spent binge watching tv and consuming a variety of spicy chips in bed!

Two days in the house, and it’s time for some human interaction. We’d probably meet with friends for dinner and end the night at home, drinking wine, and dancing to classic jams from the early 2000s!

I’ve lost what day were on, but at this point bestie has got to go! To the airport we go! Love you, bye!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

First, and for most, Our Creator! I don’t shy away from my faith whatsoever, and I would never have the boldness or vision needed to pursue purpose on my own.

Secondly, I’d like to shout out my mother who is unreasonably generous and caring! As a child I remember her organizing backpack drives and shopping for women in need with no organization to back her up. Just a tiny budget and the will to be a Christ representative! She taught me to be selfless- even when you don’t think you have enough.
