We had the good fortune of connecting with Shana-Lee Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shana-Lee, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I think it’s important to understand different seasons will bring different life balance. We must be able to adjust as our life adjusts. It does not mean it is impossible, but in some seasons of our lives balance is easier than others, but it is possible. My work life balance has changed over time. It has been very busy, and I must schedule my personal time to ensure I recharge and there are other times when my life is not as busy, so I have more flexibility to have my personal time. I think it is very important to recognize what season you are in and adjust your lifestyle to ensure you have some time for yourself. In my current season, I have more flexibility, and I am enjoying it because I know this season will not last forever. There will be a time when I will look back and cherish these personal moments.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I always knew I wanted to start my own business, but what type of business was unclear. I started thinking about the threads in my life. I am a natural encourager, and my “me time” is important to me. When I planned my personal retreat, I created a basket for myself such as you would receive when you attend a retreat. I started thinking how many women would like to receive a quarterly gift to remind them to take time for themselves. Breathe & Exhale 360 encourages women to take care of her complete self, so we focus on her mentally, physically, spiritually, and financially.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the Dallas-Fort Worth area that I would like to take my friend to both cities to show them a great time.

Depending on the season, we would go to Klyde Warren Park as I think it is a super cool park that is on top of a highway.

While we are downtown, we would go to Woolworth for lunch and Fluellen for some delicious cupcakes.

The next day, we will have a relaxing day and go to the spa at Perfect Touch Day Spa and spend the day and grab something to eat on 7th street in Fort Worth.

We will have to try BBQ here in the DFW area, so the next day, we will go to Cooper’s Old Time Pit BBQ or Heim’s BBQ, so she can try both and determine which one is the better one.

We will have to catch a concert or show at the Toyota Music Factory and grab dinner at a restaurant specific to Dallas with a patio, hoping the night is cool.

We will end the weeklong trip with dinner at Reunion Tower and go to Trinity Groves for dessert.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this Shoutout to my husband, Joshua Scott for always encouraging me and my mentor, Andrea Luma for being there to answer all my questions and for giving me my initial push to start my business.
