We had the good fortune of connecting with Lanky B Multi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lanky B, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
As a Rap Artist, If you make Music that any and everybody can relate to, that draws in eyes and ears. People want to see who’s behind it (The Music) at the same time hear the Message. If you have the right Group of people around you that are Supportive in everything you do, or put out. That gives a Artist a BOOST TO KEEP GOING! Confidence.. If you Make Music that send Chills through your Peers Body then I would say you have A Gift. We all are Blessed with Gifts, but not all of us know how to use them. As long as you can Accept your Gift, Then You have the Tools to keep Going.. And become Successful. My Goal has Always been stay Dedicated and Never Give Up On Your Dreams! That’s something I live by.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Overall I’m just Dedicated to everything I do whether its Musically or being the Best Father I can be to my Daughter. I’ve been told a numerous amount of times that I don’t Act, or Think like the average person my age (31). I just see certain things from a different angle especially seeing certain things growing up. I’ve always felt like Music is a good form of Therapy, just because I’ve always been the type of guy that really rather getting my message out the right way through My Music and everybody hear the same message. VS me telling somebody something and they make up a whole different story from what I told them which basically changes everything. But I stay away from them type of people, always have. Your going to hear it from the GOATS mouth not the Horses. Musically I’m very Versatile and that confuses alot of people because they expect you to be placed inside of a Box. But I have always made good Music its just when you make certain Songs certain people expect you only to make those kind of Songs. But generally speaking A ARTIST is all across the Board with it. I’ve always had the mind frame that Selling Good Music can be just Successful as selling Dope if you have the right Approach and Dedication. I started my own Record Label as a Freshman in High School (Money Makin Click Ent) I already had the Vision of where I seen my Company going. My first Mixtape was called “Music Is My Hustle” which basically speaks for itself, everybody knew me in School for Rapping and that was my Hustle and I’ve been in love with it every since.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Im real big on Supporting Local Talent. So you can never go wrong with Open Mic Events, I feel those have alot of Opportunity and Potential if you meet the right people. Networking is always good. I really don’t club like I did in my early 20’s. I’m more of a layed back guy, Texas Live is a good Spot to watch my Cowboys or any Sports event Boxing, Basketball ect. Crown and Coke or Crown Apple on the Rocks is my go to drink. I’m also Diabetic so I cant eat out as much as I want but Mi Cocina is a real good Mexican Restaurant, I’m real big on Mexican and Jamaican food but after that we definitely can defiantly hit the Studio.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When I was a Freshman in High School I had the opportunity to be part of the Marching Band at W.W Samuell High School. Music has always been something I was into and really had a passion for when it came to making Beats and Rapping over them. But one day while in Band Class we had a Substitute Teacher by the name of Raynal Blackmon (Uncle Ray) which was Part Owner of a Local Record Company by the name of THICK AND THIN FAMILY Ent. He introduced himself to the Class and told us a little about him outside of Teaching. I honestly felt like that was my opportunity to let him know how much I was into Music, Rapping or what not. From that day forward I was introduced to so many Dallas Rap Legends one in particular was “Joe Mayberry” once Ray linked me up with Mayberry which was Teaching at Dallas Lincoln High School at the time he has taken me up under his wing Musically and as a Son, (My Mentor) that dude taught me so many things about the Music Industry from the Do’s and Dont’s, Bad Contracts and the whole nine. But in order to be Successful as you want to be you have to go through certain situations which teach you how to move as an Artist/Business Man. I also was introduced to a guy through Mayberry by the the name of Marcus Parker which was from the same city as my pops side of the family (Port Arthur Tx) that dude was a Marketing Machine when I met him, taught me and turned me on to so many streams of Income its not funny. Honestly turned the whole Squad on to the things that are currently going on now far as Digital Streaming or what not, mind you this was the early 2000’s, Marc P was hipped to it before alot of guys including myself. I call him a Marketing Genius because he still continues to finds things and ways for the Team to be Successful. We all put our ideas Together and basically bring them to light. But yea, Thick And Thin Family Ent. has always treated me like Family from Day One, And its Genuine.
