We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Lamar Quinn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Lamar, what do you attribute your success to?
God and my inner circle which includes the Toast for Charity board, trusted advisors/mentors, family & friends, and most importantly my wife.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Pharmacist. I received my doctorate from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy. What sets me apart from others is my ability to thrive under pressure. I am here because I have BIG dreams and those dreams, along with a STRONG support system, carried me beyond the Southside of Chicago. The path to PharmD was not easy, but having focus and purpose allowed me to overcome the challenges. I’ve learned that all mistakes are survivable and losses can eventually become wins if you remain focused and have purpose. I want the world to know that we all can make a meaningful difference today resulting in a better tomorrow.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If the homie pulled up to Dallas for a week, it is probably for a Toast for Charity event. The event would most likely be Giving From The Sole, which is a charitable sneaker ball raising scholarship funds for kids in Southern Dallas. Outside of that, we would have a kick back on my balcony enjoying some grilled steaks, asparagus, and grilled corn. We would play some dominoes, spades, phase 10 etc while having a few cocktails with family and friends. I live a simple life.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a BIG shoutout to my wife, Lauren Quinn, and my son, Jaxon Quinn. If you were to measure my success, than I’ll tell you my yardstick is their happiness.
