Hi Dominique, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Authenticity. According to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, authentic means to remain true to one’s own personality, spirit, or character. My success is a reflection of remaining true to my authenticity, hints the name of my business, Journey To Authenticity. In life we can choose to compare ourselves to others or embrace that are authentic journey is what allows us to be successful. I truly believe remaining true to my spirit and the destiny specific to me is what gives me success. I choose to show up everyday as me, authentically me.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Journey to Authenticity, my first baby and forever passion, is an organization focused on holistic healing through authenticity. Since I was a child, traveling the world as a military brat I have always had a special place in my heart for people. My empathetic heart and inquisitive spirit always allowed me to connect with individuals of different races, cultures, and backgrounds. I knew at a young age that I wanted to help people, but wasn’t sure how it would look. It wasn’t until I was introduced to the lows of life that I could confidently say what Dominique truly wanted in life. I had taken a leap of faith to get my Masters in Counseling and Human Development with no direction on how I would use it, but trusting that at some point I would figure it out. Through this process I was challenged to face my traumas in life, like the divorce of my parents and my sexual trauma. I felt stripped of everything that once defined me, but as I began my healing process God revealed a vision to me. That vision was Journey To Authenticity, a space where others can also obtain healing and walk in freedom as I have been blessed to experience. Journey To Authenticity focuses on healing the WHOLE individual, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit. Not only am I Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor, I am a HUMAN who continues to do the work to experience freedom in my mind, body, and spirit. Journey To Authenticity has truly been a journey that continues to evolve as I evolve. From clinical therapy to wellness travel, Journey To Authenticity is committed to providing holistic healing services to all individuals who desire to Journey To Authenticity.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A perfect day in Dallas would include me taking a stroll at Klyde Warren Park, possibly reading a book while I people watch. Once I get done soaking in the wonderful view, I would head over to Velvet Taco in Uptown to purchase the #3.5 Picnic chicken and #12 Slow roasted angus brisket. To finish off my evening, I would rent a scooter and ride over to the BEST view in the city, The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. Once the sun goes down and the skyline is lit up, this view is perfect for skygazing!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to first give credit to the Most High for entrusting me with my gifts and finding me worthy to fufill my destiny in life. To my parents who have always supported my BIG ideas, quirky ways, and BRIGHT imagination, thank you for believing in me before I could see my own light. Much gratitude to my grandparents who instilled spiritual values into me since the beginning, you all saw my gift from the beginning and created a foundation for my success. All that I do is for you all.
