We had the good fortune of connecting with Machelle Burgin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Machelle, what’s been your favorite thing to do during quarantine?
My favorite thing to do during quarantine has been painting and drawing. I love being creative so putting my ideas onto a canvas is definitely exciting for me. I’ve also been brushing up on my design skills and learning about new trends and techniques. Being a creative you always have to learn new things and keep up with what is currently going on.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
524 Web Studio specializes in web design. I have a huge passion to help others accomplish their goals. With that being said I don’t just design websites. I provide a personable experience to learn about the individual and their goals to build their brand. Even after the service is complete they can reach out to me for advice or tools to elevate their success. Being creative excites me but seeing a client build what they are passionate about is why I do what I do. Building my business has definitely been a challenging road for me and to be honest it still is. It takes a lot of discipline and reevaluation consistently. Sometimes trying to find the time to handle everything can become difficult. Another challenge is that the market is constantly changing so you could learn one thing and then a few weeks later realize there’s a new technique or software that matters more. I am most proud of my annual networking events that attract new entrepreneurs to gain more exposure to their brands. These events are very important to me because I want others to know what they are doing is important and needs to be seen.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Dallas definitely has something going on all the time. We would attend a concert, food festival, and an art show. We would hang out at Klyde Warren park and tackle all of the food trucks. Some of my favorite places to eat are Harlowe, Stirr, Vidorra, Ellen’s, Buzzbrews, Public School, Glorias, Thirsty Lion, Saint Ann, the Woolworth, Green Gator and 3 Eleven just to name a few. For drinks we would hang out at Te Deseo, Happiest Hour, Sidecar Social, Mercy, Reservoir, Taco Heads on a Tuesday, OT Tavern on a Thursday and Bitter Ends for Sunday Funday. There are definitely plenty of other places to tackle.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am thankful for everyone that I have in my life. Everyone has been super supportive with anything I am involved in. Not only do they support me after I have accomplished a goal, they support me during. They continue to ask plenty of questions and follow up with me to make sure I stay on top of all of my tasks. There are two books that have been extremely helpful which are Goals by Brian Tracy and Mind Your Business by Ilana Griffo. These two books help me define my business and put together a plan with the tools I need to execute it. I want to a give special thanks to my mentor Jesse Alex. He has been a huge inspiration in everything that I do. He always allow me to pick his brain when I’m having any issues. He is very knowledgeable and always willing to share his knowledge with others. It is extremely important to have someone that is willing to listen and teach you through your process of building the business you are passionate about.
