Meet Elizabeth Míreles | Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Míreles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elizabeth, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was very young when my interest in makeup began. However after high school I began thinking this passion of mine could very well become a business & it was what I wanted to pursue. I wasn’t sure if anyone would take me seriously, or if my business would be a successful one, but I knew I just had to go for it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a makeup artist in the Dallas area, servicing others and helping women all across the metroplex look and feel beautiful! I think my passion and drive sets me apart from others, when I set my mind to something there’s no stopping me. I love the feeling of making women feel beautiful and confident with my artistry.
I am excited for my business to keep growing and for what’s in store. It has not been easy. A lot of hard nights, time and energy has been invested in my business. Ups and downs. I’ve had to struggle and push through even when I felt like giving up. There was I time I was working three jobs or times where I wouldn’t get booked for months. This would be very discouraging for me. What helped me overcome these challenges has been keeping a positive attitude, especially in negative situations. You always have to look for the bright side. I’ve learned there’s room for everyone to shine. I’ve also learned if you really want it, you have to work hard for it. Nothing is impossible when your heart is in the right place.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s so many fun places to eat and drink in Dallas, I love how much we have to offer! I would eat at Carmen’s, get some drinks down on Greenville ave. And hang out in the bishop arts area!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The person who deserves the most recognition is my mom. She inspired me and still does to this day. I couldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for her. Alongside my mom I am very grateful for my close friends and family who have always encouraged me and believed in me, but most importantly my partner. He is my rock and my biggest supporter. Last but definitely not least, my clients, without them my business cannot be a business. Without their support I would not be typing out this message. For them, I am thankful.
