Meet Sable Breeze | Singer and songwriter.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sable Breeze and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sable, what do you attribute your success to?
That I am constantly learning. In the music industry, you have to be. There’s a lot of information to take in on the many different skills, tactics, and strategies that are out there. There are also a lot of different opinions on what you “should” do which can be overwhelming. But constantly seeking out information, following your instincts, and finding what works best for you and what you can implement in your current situation is extremely important. You can’t be afraid of growth or of trying new things. I welcome constructive criticism and advice with open arms and always will.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Music has always been very close to my heart and ever since I could talk I knew this is what I wanted to do. I started out writing short one verse songs which evolved into more complex and complete songs when I started learning how to play the guitar. I think the thing I’m most proud of would have to be my lyrics. Not only do they mean a lot to me, but I feel like a lot of my songs have a unique message and whenever someone tells me they relate or connect to a song it fills me with a sense of completeness and contentment that’s hard to describe. I don’t have a huge following but I’ve gotten such sweet messages from people and have cried with people after performances. Connecting with people through music is just the best feeling and probably is what gets me the most excited about the future. Getting to where I am today has not been easy at all, struggling with chronic illness has caused me to have to work harder and push through every day. But I never want the word “can’t” to be in my vocabulary. I will work hard every day to achieve the goals that I want to accomplish. That being said, I’ve also had to learn to be patient with myself and to take time to be proud of the accomplishments I make along the way, to learn from others without comparing myself to them, and to have complete confidence in myself and my abilities.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
What a fun question! There are so many awesome spots in the North Texas area, I just know I won’t be able to include them all. I think we’d start out in Denton with a little shopping trip and head to Glen’s Pawn Shop & Music Store! They always have a ton of cool instruments in stock and the staff there is super helpful. If it’s market season then we would of course have to check out the iconic Denton Community Market as well and listen to some live music while seeing what all of the local vendors have to offer. We would then have to head to Howling Mutt Brewing Co., they have such a chill atmosphere and always have amazing local artists performing every weekend and open mics on Mondays! If we can’t get enough of the fun open mics then we’d for sure have to hang out at Killer’s Tacos on Tuesday, and Herf’s Tap House on Thursday! Then, we would for sure have to hang out at Game Changers Sports and Arcade Grill playing some pool, darts, and arcade games! If we want a bite to eat and we happen to find ourselves in Frisco, Dallas, or Fort Worth then we’re for sure heading to a place called Clean Juice. They’re a certified organic juice bar with delicious smoothies, juices, salads, wraps, and more! Another one of my favorite places is The Charming Cat Cafe in Music City Mall, Lewisville. They have so many sweet adoptable cats that you can pay to hang out with for a while. It’s always so fun to visit.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Bryan Fulton of Ayers Affect Audio in Denton, TX definitely deserves a huge shoutout! In 2020 I brought 15 of my original songs that I wanted to record to his studio and his skills and talent made the recording process so quick and easy. I was able to release 3 EPs in 2021 that were all recorded at Ayers Affect Audio and could not be happier with the results. Bryan has also recorded many other local artists including his own band 11:83 and his amazing work on those recordings is what caused me to choose his studio. Definitely check out his work if you are looking for a place to record! I couldn’t finish this section without also giving a huge shoutout to my friends and family for the continuous support and love that they’ve given me. I also would love to give a shoutout to the local music community in Denton County, TX for inspiring me and providing so many opportunities.
