We had the good fortune of connecting with Sydney Risher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sydney, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
One of the habits that I feel helped me succeed was a habit of breaking down tasks and scheduling. For my business, I release new merchandise on a certain date. Scheduling this date ahead of time and then working backward to schedule due dates for the pieces of the tasks to be done. Another habit that has helped me to succeed is automating certain tasks. Taking time out of my day to update automated tasks helps me to stay on track with other tasks without having to focus on updating other tasks constantly.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I got to where I am today through hard work and determination. I refused to give up when many others would have and I was determined to make my business into something I could be proud of. It was not an easy process and provided me with some hard days when sales did not go the way I thought they would, but my focus on creating things that I loved motivated me to keep going.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My itinerary would include trips to Full City Rooster for coffee, a walk around Klyde Warren Park, and visits to the Dallas Museum of Art, The Dallas Aquarium, The Dallas Zoo, and The Dallas Arboretum.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my mother. She has been nothing but supportive in this journey and has helped me through tough situations, overwhelming project goals, and issues with gathering supplies.
