Meet Sarah Rose | Musician, Producer & Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, what inspires you?
My inspiration derives from many different sources. For me, being able to see others passionate in their craft helps ignite a fire in myself. I love learning new things big or small and I would not be where I am today without people that I have had the good fortune of learning from. Whether it be directly or indirectly, I hope that I can do the same for others.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been surrounded by music ever since I was a child. Drum set was the first instrument I learned and eventually picked up keyboard through YouTube tutorials. It wasn’t until years later did I gain an interest in music production. Over time, I realized that I started listening to my favorite songs in a different way and became obsessed with analyzing all the elements that make up a song. It was definitely a bit of struggle when I first started out because I didn’t have anyone to turn to for advice or feedback. My family and friends had different interests than I do so it was up to me to stay driven and it definitely tested my level of passion for music. I resorted to the internet for a majority of my learning and it has helped me flourish and build my confidence. Along the way, I’ve learned that no one starts off as an expert in anything and that it’s okay to make mistakes. To me, making mistakes has helped me grow and better my skills because the more you work at something, the better you are going to become. If there’s anything that I’d want out of all of this, it’s for my music to make an impact on people; even if it reaches or speaks to just one person. I hope to continue to grow my knowledge and skill-level because I believe there is always room for improvement.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To start, I would definitely take them to the movies. I love the whole experience of going to the movies from the huge screen to the smell of popcorn. I feel like it makes the movie 10 times better. After, I would maybe take them to the downtown area to walk around, maybe some shops or restaurants. A lot of my film photography inspiration is from city life and cinematic views from different areas of town, plus there is so much to do downtown.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to one of my good friends, Rolando Ordonez III (ROLO). He taught me the fundamentals of music production and film photography and I will forever be grateful for his influences. I don’t have many friends that are into the same interests as me, so him and I have a lot of commonalities in areas of music and film.
