We had the good fortune of connecting with Yesnie Salazar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yesnie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
One day I was up in the clouds and I told myself “Yesnie, your fantasies are your reality-it’s who you are, so show the world girl. Just freaking do it already!!!”. I reflected and made it clear to myself that I absolutely love myself. I want to LIVE and do something super fun with a bunch of color everywhere. This is the beginning, but ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of this. It’s happening now. I am living in the moment and I am enjoying the process. I am grateful for life! I am a sweetheart, so I came up with the name “Azucar Bebe”- Your Sweetest Fantasy! I am a total babe with a big heart.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Azucar Bebe is a brand. We are here to serve you the sweetest styles and trends. We treat everyone good and we believe everything must be done with integrity. Our clothes are great quality and our customer service is top tier! Azucar Bebe (@azucarbebe222) is an online boutique (www.azucarbebe222.com) that also provides local delivery in the DFW. We want to take care of you and cater to you. It’s all about you and your fashion desires. We are girly, we are fun, we are for everyone! I am so proud of our branding which was designed by the dopest graphic designer on the planet, Diana R. from Los Angeles, California who owns Space Hoes (@spacehoes)! She has designed for LA Times, Jenny 69, Morphe, La Goony Chonga, Shoreline Mafia, Jeffree Star, and many others! I am so lucky #literallyblessed. I was very determined on working with specifically her. She is extremely talented and I am so proud of her. She has a unique branding strategy, if you look at my logo, those are actually all of my favorite colors. Super dreamy and girly. She’s a total wiz and I am thankful for her hard work. I am here today with my business because I am not scared to network, I ask questions, I raise my hand. I use my voice! I am powerful because I truly believe in myself. I prayed and manifested. It is not easy, anything good in life requires hard work and dedication. At first I was nervous, I thought maybe people wouldn’t like the name, but they love it and that makes me so happy!!! I learned to stop all the negative thoughts and live in the moment. I don’t care about what people think anymore, this is my life, my fantasy, my story! Enjoy life, change your perspective and stay positive. Each and everyday matters, because what we do today solidifies our future.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My cousin Christina is in Dallas for the week and I’m going to show her a good time. First, we are picking up our grandmother Irene and then we are going to my favorite spot to eat, Chalio’s Mexican Restaurant which is actually in Fort Worth. They have the best birria, homemade tortillas and aguas frescas! This spot is perfect for brunch with your comadres (homegirls). Then for dinner we are going to Sum Dang Good Chinese located at Trinity Groves in Dallas. This restaurant is a must okay, please order the Famous Soup Dumplings, they are so warm and flavorful. Everyone there treats you like family. Both of these restaurants present their food so beautifully to you. Zero regrets, I promise. We are going to spend time in Pleasant Grove with our uncle Able and Aunt Bea, they always throw the best cookouts. They buy their fajitas from Super Mercado Mexico located on 7828 Lake June Rd. Dallas, Tx. My uncles fajitas always smack, because they’re made with gangsta love! In the evenings we are going to go out for drinks at Tejano Sports Bar located at 119 W. Jefferson Blvd, Dallas, Texas. This sports bar is operated by the Castellano family, growing up they were so much fun. Very good people, so I want my cousin around all those good vibes and smiles.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
