We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrian Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrian, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I never liked the idea of having to move on someone else’s time. I always liked having my own freedom and mindset of when to do things. Not to mention there is just something really special about creating and having your own thing.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Although I do freelance I find most enjoyment from my camera when I work on my own artistry or collaborate with my friends. At this point I don’t really think I standout from others in my field, but I don’t really mind it. I find myself mores just enjoying trying new things and experimenting, as well as learning from other whom I think are better in some regards. If there was something I wanted the world to know about my brand, it would be that not everything necessarily needs to serve a grand purpose or that you need to be remembered for something great. Life is short so you should do things you enjoy with people you enjoy, and be as free as you possibly can.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I was creating an itinerary first things first for food, would definitely be sushi. I damn near have to convince myself not to get it at least once a week. Im also a man of thrilling experiences, and activities so I would say zip lining at Go Ape Adventure park. Afterwards maybe something nice to drink like a fruit smoothie assuming it’s hot out. Cidercade would make for a nice night out as well for both drinks and just a chill time. One thing I also love doing with friends is cruising the city either skating or on a bike etc. Just finding new interesting locations for photos or food spots. Definitely would want to hit up the dallas arboretum and soak up the sun and fresh flowers and plants also.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Well there are a few things and people that got me to where I am now. My brother was the first of us to make videos for other people and after acquiring one of the high school’s cameras, me and my friends would make skate videos. From there we would make little comedy sketches and just mess around. Eventually my parents took notice and saw I was into it and started to support as well. Nowadays Some of my friends still point people my way, like my friend Jawon. He is a Dj who got me plenty of jobs and is even growing in success himself these days. He would be a great fit for this Shoutout.
