Meet Baxter Swint | Realtor & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Baxter Swint and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Baxter, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
BaxStage started as an idea when I first turned 15. All of my life, my grandmother had been taking me to the theatre to watch performance’s. As soon as I was able to sit up in a chair it became tradition for my grandmother and I to take a trip to Bass Hall and watch a Christmas show together. As I grew older, my love for performing and entrepreneurship did as well. Regardless of my age, I constantly found myself starting businesses and on stage. In high school I started performing at a local community theatre that was about an hour from my house. I spent many nights driving back and forth to get home at 3:00 a.m. just to turn around and be back at the theatre at 8:00 a.m. that morning. These long nights led to a constant search for a place to stay so that I wouldn’t have to drive the hour back home. I began to dream about how convenient it would be to live in the theatre. The Phantom in Phantom of the Opera did it, why couldn’t I? With this dream and my families history in the real estate industry, the idea for BaxStage emerged. What started out as a desire to live in the theatre turned into a new business venture. By conveniently attaching a hotel to a performance theatre I could now provide guests with great entertainment while they stayed at our hotel. The beauty is that they never had to leave. As the idea progressed, I began to ask myself what the “why” behind this company was. I knew that I wanted to glorify God and add value to the lives of others. With that information in hand I recognized the opportunity to serve guests well within the hotel industry. Hospitality and the service industry each provide an incredible space to pour into the lives of others as they come and go from our city. With a heart for people and entrepreneurship being deeply rooted in the founding of this company, I wanted to make this experience available to the nations as we live life alongside our customers and partners.

What should our readers know about your business?
BaxStage is people focused. Our goal as a company is to help you and your family spend less time booking a vacation and more time enjoying it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were to visit Dallas I would spend the first day walking around downtown to shop, view incredible art and eat delicious food. I would finish the day by taking him to Restoration Hardware – Know Henderson for an aesthetic rooftop dinner and drinks. The second day in town, I would start off with a walk in Klyde Warren Park before brunch at The Adolphus Hotel. After brunch we would visit the Funny Library Coffee Shop and spend a few hours there catching up before heading to the Mavs game. Day 3 we would visit Grapevine and walk down their historic district to shop, visit with family and walk around the Gaylord Resort. If it happened to be Christmas, I would spend the afternoon visiting their ICE exhibit and doing the reindeer scavenger hunt. Day four would start out at LaLa Land and then we would move to The Perot Museum. We would grab a quick lunch and finish the day off at the Holocaust Museum. The final day, we would go to the Stockyards and sum up our time with dancing at Billy Bobs.
