We had the good fortune of connecting with Said Shaban and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Said, how does your business help the community?
For us, Minty Barber has always been about people first. We wanted to create more than just a place for haircuts — we wanted to build a space where people feel welcomed, valued, and connected to their community while receiving truly custom-tailored haircuts and services designed around the individual.

We also care deeply about the impact we have on the industry itself. Part of our mission is helping change the perception of barbering by showing that it can be a serious profession and long-term career when approached with discipline, hospitality, and pride. We invest heavily into mentorship, culture, and growth because we want to help barbers build meaningful futures for themselves.

Beyond the shop, we stay involved through local partnerships, community events, and giving back whenever we can. At the end of the day, our goal is simple: take care of people and leave the industry better than we found it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Minty Barber was built on the idea that barbering should constantly evolve while still staying true to the craft and the people behind it. We’ve always embraced change, and a big part of what excites us right now is expanding beyond the barbershop itself.

We recently launched our own product line, which allows us to bring the Minty experience into people’s everyday routines, and we’re also integrating AI technology into our website to help personalize and modernize the client experience in a way that still feels human and authentic.

At the core of it all, we still take pride in delivering custom-tailored haircuts, genuine hospitality, and building a brand that pushes the industry forward while staying grounded in community and culture.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, I’d probably keep them around Frisco and McKinney for most of the trip because that’s where both Minty Barber shops are and where a lot of our favorite spots and day-to-day life happen.

We’d grab breakfast and coffee around Legacy West, catch a game or event near The Star, spend a night at Grandscape, and definitely hit places like Haywire and Hutchins BBQ.

But I’d also have to take them into Dallas for a couple days to really experience the city side of DFW. We’d probably hang around areas like Deep Ellum, Bishop Arts District, and Harwood District because they each have a completely different energy. Somewhere between the suburban calm of Frisco and McKinney and the fast pace of Dallas is probably the best way to go.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, a huge amount of credit goes to our team. They’ve played a massive role in shaping the culture, energy, and standard of Minty Barber through their work ethic, creativity, and the way they care for people every day. The shop would not be what it is without them.

We’re also thankful for the barbers and industry leaders who inspired us early on and helped show that barbering can be elevated into a true profession and craft when approached with pride and intention.

And of course, our clients deserve recognition too. Their trust and loyalty allowed us to grow, and we never take that support for granted.
