Meet Drew & Jourdan Smith | Owners of Salt & Light Laundry Service

We had the good fortune of connecting with Drew & Jourdan Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Drew & Jourdan, how does your business help the community?
Our business is centered around spreading the Gospel. When you become our client, you aren’t simply getting your laundry done. You are being prayed over and we are sharing scripture with you every week. We are able to pray so specifically for our clients based on what we learn about them through doing their laundry. We learn where they work, where their children go to school, what sports they play.. so much information that otherwise you would never know about your customer in any other field. We partner with local non-profits every chance we get, pray for people and share God’s word with them because we believe in being mission minded. We believe our business is raising the bar for customer service & care.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business model is unique because we create a personal experience with clients. That is definitely what we are most proud of. Our service doesn’t end after your laundry is delivered.
We started this thing in April of 2021 and it has been a whirlwind ever since. Drew has a background in restaurant management so keeping us organized from the start was an absolute breeze for him. I, Jourdan, owned an in home daycare for quite a few years and am very familiar with using organic marketing to gain customers and ensuring that they have a consistent experience from start to finish.
Honestly, the growth of the business has felt nearly effortless. We believe the reason for that is our dedication to giving ALL of this back to God and letting Him do with it whatever He wants to do. We operate with open hands. If all of this went away tomorrow, we would still be confident that we are loved & held by Him.
We simply want the world to know that we care. Our goal is to provide a practical & necessary service that reduces stress in the home as well as love our customers fiercely & cover them in truth. We started this with the heart of serving our local community and that core value will never change.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Of course we would bring them to our church, Lighthouse Church in Prosper, TX. We would eat at Toasted Walnut in the Downtown Celina Square, go for beers at the Little Wooden Penguin or wine at Valley Vines (my favorite spot in Celina). Our little town has so much to offer… friendly people, great food, and a sense of community that we’ve never experienced anywhere else.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We want to dedicate this Shoutout to our employees. You all work so hard and we are so grateful for your partnering with us in covering our community in prayer & God’s word.
