We had the good fortune of connecting with Khansa Khatoon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Khansa, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Coming from a business family, I always wanted to run my own business and be my own boss.

It did take some time for me to figure out things, but now, I do what I love and the best part is that Im being paid for it. I cant explain how much it has boosted my levels of happiness during times when most of us have gone through a rough patch.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Zauq Creative is a DFW-based creative marketing agency which is founded run by women of color. Our unique combination of cultures and experiences, sets us apart to create custom and specialized content, branding, and experiences for our clients. I am immensely proud of the work we do and feel grateful to be part of it.

Times of uncertainty drive creation and innovation. With extra time to spare, we chose to spend it wisely and decided to take a dive into the world of entrepreneurship.

As “Pandemic Entrepreneurs” we had to rapidly learn new skills, develop new mindsets, build new relationships and figure out new ways to do things – all on the fly!

We did face a lot of hurdles in the process – looking at every crisis as an opportunity is what we did, and Im glad we took this route.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a Foodie, so I’d take my best friend to all my favorite restaurants and cafes to try all the amazing food DFW has to offer!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Running a business and motherhood are no piece of cake. As a working mom I try to stay at the top of things and I try to keep my spirits up on trying days.

Things always do not go as I want them to, but there is one person who brings the calm to any situation, someone I always depend on – my husband.

He is my partner in the “adulting” game and he deserves a big shout-out for all the big and little things he does to keep me going!
