Meet Igor Karlicic & Bhargav Maganti | Co-Founders

We had the good fortune of connecting with Igor Karlicic & Bhargav Maganti and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Igor, Bhargav, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
To treat every setback as an opportunity.
While this advice is intuitive, it’s worth reflecting on. As business owners, our default goal is make the right decisions; when a mistake inevitably happens, whether due to a miscalculation or an unforeseen circumstance, it’s often easy to be disappointed.
What our team has found is that the best way to react in these situations is by owning our shortcomings and focusing on improving what we can control. Looking at our history, that would be the primary reason we maneuvered through the earliest stages of our company, and COVID, intact.
These are the challenges that force you to better understand your product, customers, business model and team. This is not to say to seek out failure – rather to be prepared to embrace it when it does happen and have the understanding that you will be better off for it on the other side.
What should our readers know about your business?
Monarc develops the Seeker, a robotic quarterback for football training. It’s designed for both in-practice use and for individual development. Using a proprietary tracking system, it allows pass-catchers to train alone for the first time ever.
We’re most proud of what our technology means to our end-users. We’ve poured ourselves into this project and what drives us is that spark when someone first interacts with what we’ve created. There’s excitement, enthusiasm, and real impact on someone’s abilities and career.
Our path wasn’t simple. Iterative hardware development takes a long time–especially for a 300 lb robot. It took us three years to develop but it was worth waiting until the product was truly ready. It’s important to under-promise and over-deliver and that makes scaling our business easier at this point.
Monarc’s story is the story of every athlete who has wanted to improve and has not had the opportunity to practice. Our mission is something greater than ourselves and it’s enormously motivating when we get to see that in action.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Whiterock lake, Manhattan Project Brewery, Reveler’s Hall, Emporium Pies
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Sawyer Theisen and Connor Early. It takes a team to accomplish anything worthwhile and would love to recognize them for the effort they bring every day.
