We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittnie Alphin and Maegan Ferraris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittnie/Maegan, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Home Sweet Happy Designs is an interior styling and remodeling company. Upon starting Home Sweet Happy Designs, we had a strong passion for serving our community. Adoption holds a special place in our hearts as we have both walked this journey to bring home children. Bloom Family Designs, a non profit organization, that serves foster and adoptive families reached out to us when they expanded nationally. Each family chosen by Bloom is gifted with a uniquely designed, decorated, and furnished child’s room at no financial cost to the family. Partnering with Bloom Family Designs allows us to use our interior decorating gifts along with our love for adoption and foster care. We hope to serve 2-3 families per year in the north Dallas area through this non-profit!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Home Sweet Happy Designs is an interior styling and remodeling company serving the DFW. We offer full-service styling, remodeling, and virtual design. Transforming spaces into a place that is comfortable, memorable, and brings joy is our mission. Our business started from a passion for interior design. Being able to turn that passion into a business was a dream come true. Starting a business isn’t always easy, but grace, patience, and teamwork has gotten us where we are today. We pride ourselves in serving others. We want each client, follower, and employee to know how much we truly care for them. Putting our clients first and making sure they are heard, loved, and enjoy their space is our goal. We believe our heart for serving others is what sets us apart and makes us unique.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many great places to visit here, but here are a few of our favorites in Dallas and the North Dallas area!
Downtown McKinney: Depending on the time of year there are many different events that are hosted here. It’s great for the entire family, a girls day, or even a date night. Try Harvest for some fresh farm to table food, Landon Winery for a glass of wine, Cadillac Pizza, or the Yard for outdoor dining and fun.
Legacy West: Head here for some unique eats, drinks and fun shopping. They have everything from breakfast, to brunch then out for a date night. In between meals you can shop at some of our favorite interior stores like Frontgate and West Elm.
Hat Creek: This is a favorite spot for some family fun! Let them run around and enjoy the playground while you eat a delicious burger.
We would definitely recommend a day or two of home interior shopping by heading down to the design district in Dallas. Spend your day checking out some amazing design and enjoy some great food along the way.
For a night out we recommend heading to the Rustic. It’s perfect for a hangout with friends while enjoying a drink and listening to some live music.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Family: the solid foundation that loves, supports, and encourages us to do exactly what we love. Starting this business was something our families immediately supported us with. Our husbands have encouraged us, watched the kids, stayed up late to work with us, and have been our biggest cheerleaders. Our kids have enjoyed us working together, they love the playdates, love to shop with us, and ultimately enjoy being able to be with us and spend time doing what we love. Our parents immediately came in and helped with watching our children. We couldn’t do this without our family!
