Meet Ethan Glanger | Videographer & photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ethan Glanger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ethan, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Ever since I was younger, seeing people work a 9-5 job, day after day, painted a negative image of what adulthood seemed to look like. Storytelling has always been a peak interest of mine, so quickly after I picked up a camera for the first time I knew that was the path I strived to go down no matter what it took. At the end of the day my ultimate goal is to expose the raw beauties the world we live in has to offer to those who aren’t fortunate enough to experience it themselves, so hopefully they grow a greater understanding of how amazing their home truly is. Although this career path isn’t fully understood by many others and often times looked down upon due to its uncertainty, I find the risk of shying away from the common lifestyle most tend to live having a much greater reward rather than taking the easy and comfortable rout towards “success”.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In my opinion what sets me apart from others especially in the creative industry is my drive to accomplish a vision. I tend to conceptualize very specific photos in my head, and once i put it down on paper and realize how difficult the ideas can be I get a massive boost of inspiration to accomplish it. Usually when a creative comes across a challenge that seems near impossible they get scared off and drop it, but for me the harder the task the more dedication i get to accomplish it, and this mindset has lead to some of my most proud work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Usually when a friends in town visiting i try and take them to at least one solid place to eat and a few fun places to either shoot or just explore. Legacy West is one if my favorite spots in dallas to eat and socialize at due to the large array of restaurants and shops. The vibes are always amazing there and id recommend it to anyone visiting. Most of the time while exploring i enjoy to go on small road trips outside of dallas, but while in town exploring around downtown dallas is always a great time and adventure.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Before I even picked a camera up for the first time, my good buddy Nico Carder was the one who helped me create my first ever video. We were just messing around skiing in colorado, and that year I got my first ever GoPro as a present, so he brought up the great idea to film some shots of us skiing around and making a little video of it. If it weren’t for him suggesting to create that video, I most likely would have never pursued making more after the trip on my own which soon led into me going full time with it.
