We had the good fortune of connecting with Arun Gupta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Arun, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Skyven was created with the purpose of moving the needle on climate change. We focus on decarbonizing thermal energy that is consumed during a manufacturing process in industrial facilities. This is a particularly difficult sector to tackle, consuming almost as much fossil fuel as automotive transportation. It’s about 15% of all fuel burned worldwide. We have built a platform that is able to dramatically reduce the complexity of the industrial decarbonization process, empowering manufacturers to take climate action today. We accomplish that by first analyzing a facility for potential areas where sustainable technologies can be deployed to create savings. Then, we execute sustainable solutions customized for the facility. And with an average savings to the facility between $200,000 and $5 million, we are able to create meaningful savings to facility costs and emissions, decarbonizing profitably.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Skyven Technologies provides end-to-end services that empower industrial manufacturers to take climate action. Our services span the lifecycle of a project, starting with conceptual design and ending with operations & maintenance. To deliver these services, we team up with engineering and construction firms that specialize in the task and technology at hand. In order to help manufacturers thrive, we have set out to prove that through clean process heat factories can achieve a competitive advantage and do good for their communities, without breaking the bank. We don’t only believe that, we guarantee it. That is what sets us apart. Our model is built around the performance of our systems – if it doesn’t work, our customers don’t pay. We fundamentally believe that decarbonization should, and can, be profitable.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a huge fan of hiking and wilderness activities – staying active has helped me stay grounded and resilient throughout my entrepreneurial journey. So I try to get out as often as possible, and if I can bring people along with me, it’s always a bonus! One of the places I love hiking around in Dallas is the Cedar Ridge Nature Preserve. After a nice hike, or even as a nice break to my work day, I like to treat myself to a large boba tea, which I get at one of my favorite boba shops – Kung Fu Tea. And for dinner, I like to visit Koreatown in Carrollton for the best Korean BBQ restaurants, just the smell alone is gold.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
At Skyven, I feel lucky to work with an incredible team that is using their skills everyday to enact environmental change. It hasn’t always been easy, but I recognize that a key reason for Skyven’s success lies in our team, who are together united and working towards a shared vision for the future. I would like to dedicate this shoutout to them, the people I trust wholeheartedly to push Skyven’s ambition and scale our impact.
