Meet Tonya Hunt | Portrait photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tonya Hunt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tonya, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
It has changed by leaving work at work and whatever stresses or problems happened I would leave it at the door when I came home, when I’m home I try and dedicate my time to my husband and family. I definitely think about balance all the time and try and work harder at it everyday

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a portrait photographer , I think it’s the quality of the photos I take I always over deliver for my clients .I got where I am today from my amazing family and friends they recognized the skill and talent and really pushed me to follow my dream . It wasn’t easy at first, I feared quitting my job will it be enough to support my family and contribute but luckily it has. The lessons don’t be afraid to do what you truly want to do. I want the world to know that I love my career as a portrait photographer , I love creating, I love being inspired and love seeing my clients, love learning everyday about photography it’s endless and I’m always perfecting my craft.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love the outdoors, so definitely the lake (my favorite is lake ray Hubbard). A great hike arbor hill preserve in plano or in cedar hill state park ! The aquarium, the dallas Perot museum and parks around uptown are always the best of course shopping at north park or galleria and even west village ! I love chuys and Olive Garden

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely my photographer mentor Sam, she is one of those bosses/mentors that should be cloned she is so good at everything and can handle the stresses and problems. I could always go to her whenever and she would always tell me the best solution or how to handle a situation, she is the best at giving feedback good or bad!
