We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Collins, Josh Rodriguez, and Alex Wilshin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, Josh, and Alex, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Chris: “Being consistent with content creation whether it’s the weekly show or filling the gaps between our episodes with clips and content. We keep rolling the dice and staying consistent and I think that has been our most successful habit.” Josh: “We’ve done a great job of making the show more than a hobby. It feels more like a side hustle that we happen to love. Committing to the show as a genuine priority has helped us succeed.” Alex: “Keeping to a set time and routine. Playing off each other’s strengths, watching ourselves to see where we can improve, and interacting with our listeners.”

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

We’re a movie review comedy podcast that started in March 2019. We’re not famous or connected, and don’t have a leg up in any way in the podcast world and are shouting into the void of the internet. We grew up together in North Texas and love talking about movies. We have over 21,000 downloads in 2 years and over 28,000 followers across our social media pages. We are a grassroots operation and will continue to be in the future.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

We’re definitely going to Alamo Drafthouse or the Angelika Film Center. For food, we’re going to Sandwich Hag. Highly recommend for the safest COVID-19 protocols that all restaurants should replicate, not to mention the food is incredible. Also, the best coffee in Dallas can be found at LDU Coffee.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

We want to shout out Barrett Lewis for composing our theme song, David Hummel for his help on branding and design, Rod Douglas for creating our artwork, Isaiah Gardea for getting us into podcasting, our sponsors and partnerships, and last but not least, our loyal fan base known as the “blood relatives”, the fans who listen and interact with us weekly and are definitely not members of a “cult.”
