We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chloe, what inspires you?
I’m inspired by what makes me happy and what brings me joy. I’m inspired by my work and how far it has came. I’m inspired by the challenges of my business and how it constantly shows me how I can grow. I’m inspired by the genuine support from my followers, that have been the motivation behind my consistency.

The name of my Instagram business page is titled PicturePostcard. The origin of the title came from one of my favorite artist, Corinne Bailey Rae. Her song Choux Pastry heart is actually a sad song. It tells of a girl getting her heart broken and it changes her perspective of love and how she views life. She states that life is not a picture postcard. My page embodies the opposite. It says life can be a postcard. All of my posts the intent behind them is the first picture can go on the front of a postcard. You are able to see the world from my point of view. Yes life can be hard, it can be challenging but it doesn’t take away the beauty from it. Sometimes we could use a spin on a sad song.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I know it’s hard to start the day off on an empty stomach. We would definitely have to hit up, Tru Kitchen and Kocktails for their amazing brunch. Their food is so delicious and it adds such a unique spin on comfort foods. Hands down my favorite brunch place in the Dallas area. It has such a nice ambiance with a dope playlist! We would then go to the Legacy West area. I love the fountains and the eatery shops and their creative boutique shops. I love how they incorporate patio dining in their eateries, giving it a South Beach and Cali vibe. I love to walk, so I always choose scenic walking areas. This place is rarely talked about in Texas but is truly a hidden gem and always a good time. The next stop would be be Blue Sushi Sake. We would grab some of their sushi rolls and their crab Rangoons which I love. We would get a seat on their patio and indulge in their delicious drinks. All while taking in beautiful views. For the night time I would take them to one of my favorite hookah lounges in the Dallas area. Which is Xsheesha. It’s a nice lounge spot, that’s never too crowded. The DJ really knows how to create a playlist that incorporates both Hip Hop and R&B. Which to me is so important.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank all of my followers on my page. Thank you so much for your unwavering support. Thank you so much for following my vision and encouraging me to continue to cultivate it. My foodie friends that have provided me with mentorship and guidance. I’m so proud of us for creating and holding space for ourselves.
