Meet Tayl’e Hubbard | Strength & Conditioning Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tayl’e Hubbard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tayl’e, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want people to remember I never gave up — on dreams, on life, on myself, on anything. I want to be remembered for my determination, drive, and tenacity. Yes, I go through hard times just like everyone else but I always overcome. I always come back better and stronger. I was given another chance at life to excel/succeed and I don’t plan on disappointing. I hope people, especially young women of color, look at my life journey and say ” Wow, she went through so much but still came out on top”. I hope I leave a legacy of motivation for any and everyone who need a person to inspire them to just keep going.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well, I work as a strength & conditioning coach, meaning I assist improving athletic performance, reducing athletic injuries, and teaching lifelong fitness and movement skills. I graduated with a Kinesiology degree and then got my first internship at SMU working with football and women’s cross-country. Usually football coaches are not female. Actually the coaching career field is predominantly male, so being a female first and foremost is my most unique quality that sets me apart from others. Thankfully, female coaches and athletes are now getting more recognition and the credit they deserve, whether it be football, basketball, baseball, soccer, etc. Being a strength coach is NOT easy. Early days, late nights, a nonstop, hectic, fast-paced work environment 7 days a week. Definitely not your average corporate 9-5 job. New challenges arise everyday but when you’re passionate about something it really doesn’t feel like work. The toughest people not only face adversity but overcome it. Coaching has brought me so much confidence and as the weeks go by I become more and more comfortable in doing what I love. I feel like my career has just started and there’s so much more in store for me with the Lord’s help. Im excited; its only up from here for me honestly. I saw a quote on Instagram that said ” my intention is for other women to look at me and say … that woman went after everything she wanted and manifested it all. If she can so can I”. Thats the legacy I want to leave. Thats what I want people to take away from my brand and my story.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I thank God for turning my life a round and allowing me these chances/opportunities and putting some amazing people in my life to help push me in the right direction. To any CSCS ( especially my female CSCS’s) who has ever checked in on me, trained me, taught me the ins/outs of this profession, given me any opportunity to learn and work with athletes, helped prepare me for my own CSCS, allowed me to come train & hangout in their facility, and even simply reached and made sure I was straight in life (especially in a crazy cover year we just had) I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Also, shoutout to my friends who support me, my family who believe in me, my therapist who helps keep me afloat in crazy times, my clients who always show love and show up for me whether its a 5a session or a 5p session — really, to anyone who’s ever had my back and continued to do so, thank you.
