We had the good fortune of connecting with $ONRAE and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi $ONRAE, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
It was the only way I felt like I could truly be me in full form & not have to compromise myself for anyone or anything. While also allowing me to be inspired by others freely & try new things without caring what anyone has to say.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I feel sets me apart from others is that I’m just always going to be me in whatever I do, it’s gonna be how I want it at all times. A lot of people try to conform to formulas that have worked for others & that’s fine but I believe you in order to see real success you have to make your own path & I feel like that’s what I’m doing. I’m most excited about this new project I have coming really soon, it’s so much more polished & personal than anything I’ve ever done & I feel like it’s only the beginning of this journey I’m on & I can only hope more people will join me along this journey. I don’t feel like I’m where I need to be yet but getting to the mindset I’m in right now definitely wasn’t easy, it took some real time of being honest with myself about who I am & what I want & just figuring out how to get there. Some lessons I’ve learned were to not be timid & don’t second guess yourself. Take a chance on yourself & you’re guaranteed results. I want the world to know that I’m bringing something that feels like a breath of fresh air in world full of recycled creatives, you can finally exhale because there’s something new out there to listen to..

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In OKC, I would probably take them to either Yo Pablo! Which is a taco spot or to woo wings. Woo wings is amazing, best wings in OKC.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a big shoutout to my family, friends & my girlfriend for just holding me up when I get into funks about anything going in my life. Always supporting me in everything I do in any way that they can. I can explain how grateful I am to have them in my corner.
