Meet Morojuoluwa Oke: Music Artist, Song Writer, Vocalist. Producer, Software Engineer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Morojuoluwa Oke and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Morojuoluwa, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I think the biggest factor that led to me pursuing music and a career as an artist was my passion for music . I knew I had the talent within me growing up, I sang for the fun of it, so I decided to join the choir at a very young age, and I’ve been in the choir since then, although I didn’t officially drop a song until 2016 and it’s been up since then

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to refer to my music as “AfroFusion” which I believe is a mixture of Afrobeat and all other genres of music. What really sets my music apart from others is that I do not try to sound like anyone, I put in effort to make sure I have my own sound, the “J’ray sound” I like to call it. My journey to where I am today definitely wasn’t smooth, one of the biggest challenges I faced and still face is building a fanbase and getting people to support you. There is a common misconception when it comes to upcoming artists that these artists aren’t good enough and what not, I believe that’s why a lot of people are quick to look away from your music. One of the biggest things I’ve learnt from it all is perseverance and learning to keep doing what you do regardless of any negative energy. What I really want the world to know is that I’m an amazing artist and I’d love them to hop on the train and enjoy the ride with me on this long journey to where I wanna be.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m not exactly from DFW so I’m not too familiar with places and all, but if my friend was in my city in ATL, we would have a good time

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
