We had the good fortune of connecting with Christian Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christian, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks has been the staple of my life and career. Against all opinions I left my home state to start over in Georgia where I attended Georgia Southern University and played football on a full scholarship. I graduated from there in 2018 and had a big decision to make. Either I leave GA and go home to pursue my rap career and entrepreneurship or, I choose another place to start over and just wing it when I get there. Long story short I decided to move to San Antonio, Tx. And get a fresh start mentally, spiritually, and physically. My first 6 months in SATX I alternated between the couch, the floor and an air mattress. I recorded in a cold garage, and really broke out of my shell. Risks have been what motivate me to prove people wrong. I’ve been doing that my entire life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I go by the stage name CWILLTOOILL. I’ve been recording non stop since 2014 and what separates me apart from everyone else is that you can’t tell where I’m from, and my versatility as an artist is electrifying. I can rap and or sing to just about anything. I hear melodies in my sleep sometimes and wake up just to write or record. Also, my dedication. That’s what separates me the most honestly. I’ve seen hundreds of artists quit over the last 6 years because they weren’t getting recognition on their music, or art, or whatever dream they were chasing. I’ll never give up. That’s not even in my DNA. This year, 2021, will be my breakout year!! I’ll be globally known this year because of music and the message behind it. I’m working on the type of music you can’t help but enjoy because it’s so authentic and aesthetically it just sound good! I got here off of persistence and connections. I make genuine connections with people and continue to be honest no matter the circumstances. I reach out to everyone professionally and I never put myself above any other living human being. I wasn’t raised that way. Getting here has been hard. I’ve spent an ungodly amount of money on myself and my career to this point. From paying to be on open mics and doing 200-300 of those over 2 years in 4 states, driving back and forth putting miles on my car, and trying to expand my wardrobe so I didn’t have to wear sweatpants every show. I’ve been scammed out of my money by DJ’s , promoters , Instagram accounts that I paid for promotion… all of that! Getting here hasn’t been easy. For the first time I feel as if I’ve cut all of the hands out of my pockets besides the government and these student loans, lol, and I finally have the headspace to truly give myself and my career and my goals and relationships to big GOD.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Off the top I have to take my bro to the river walk just so he can see it if he hasn’t already. Then I’d take him to the CBD shop so we can load up and relax and get in that mode to turn up. I don’t go out like that but if we really wanted to do it right we’d for sure go to anything BOSS promotions was promoting in San Antonio. On top of that, I’d have to show my boy 6th street in Austin. That’s where the fun is! Food wise, man it’s so much good food here in San Antonio.. I think I’d have to start him off at a food truck somewhere and let him really feel the culture here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My fiancé. She’s been a light in my life since January 2019. I couldn’t of gotten through the last 2 years without her. She’s the furthest thing from a yes man and loves me unconditionally. She also has a really good ear without even knowing it. She hears all of my music and I use her as a muse for my “Hit Radar Detector”. Sometimes she’ll run in the room and say, “bae, what is this? This hard!” Then I know it’s a hit. Or, she’ll just sing certain melodies from a song I’ve been working on. When someone hears a song once and can remember it, it’s a good thing. Overall, she keeps me grounded. She sings all of my songs at my shows. She advocates for me there. Passes out flyers, business cards and radiates love throughout the building everywhere we go. She encourages me to do something to strengthen my mind, my heart, and my relationship with GOD everyday. She does it by her example though. She’s the better half of me that most people don’t get to see.
