We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Guintu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

After I became a mom, I found myself completely lost. The once fearless and ambitious woman had vanished. I was consumed with being the best mom, the best wife and the best counselor. I had unrealistic expectations of what that meant. In trying to meet everyone else’s needs, I neglected my own. It took me awhile to find my way back home, to myself. However, once I did, I knew I had to figure out a way to make it last. After some trial and error, I slowly created, what I now call, the secret self-care solution. I was able to overcome anxiety, chronic health issues, and burnt out by infusing these strategies into my daily life. After talking to friends, neighbors, and other women, I knew I had to share what I was doing with more women. I don’t want women to feel like I did and not have a way out. I am now on a mission to help other busy women prioritize themselves so that they can feel healthier and happier without guilt and shame so that they can thrive in their life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

One of the things that sets me apart from other coaches is that I have both the educational knowledge and field experience to back up how I support my clients. I have over two decades worth of experience working with women as a licensed professional counselor and a health coach. Self-care is not a fad for me. I didn’t just jump on this last year because it was the thing to do. I have been on my own journey for the last 17 years and teaching women for more than a decade. I am really excited about my most recent project. In summer of 2020, I launched my 5 week online group program, The Self-care Bootcamp. I am currently enrolling for the third session starting in January. The things the graduates are saying about their experience and transformation are short of amazing. They are improving their health, building confidence and letting go of their emotional chaos. I am super excited about how this project will grow in 2021. I really want women to know that they don’t have to endure their pain and suffering alone. They have a choice who to trust to be their guide,  I say it make it count and choose me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I would definitely take them to spend the day at King Spa in Dallas. It’s a Korean sauna experience and it is one of my favorite things to do to recharge. We would start with soaking in the hot whirlpools to unwind and let go of the stress. Then we would spend the rest of the morning going in and out of the dry sauna rooms focusing on enjoying the benefits of detoxing our bodies. After spending the day recharging ourselves, we would head over to the Dry Bar to get our hair done for a night out. We would then wrap up our day with some good ole girl time over pizza and wine at Sixty Vines Restaurant.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

Author and Motivational Speaker, Rachel Hollis. After I read her book, Girl Wash Your Face, I suddenly felt the courage and confidence to think bigger and to really take my message out into the world. I stopped making excuses and starting working on making my dreams a reality.
