We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Lasch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
We build affordable housing for families and seniors throughout the DFW Metro and Central Texas

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am the president of O-SDA Industries. My partner, Lisa Stephens of Saigebrook Development and I build workforce and senior housing throughout Texas. We have built 28 communities in the last 10 years. It has taken a lot of hard work and sheer determination at times (and frankly a lot of guts). We faced insurmountable deadlines, taken on financial risk, and faced people that didn’t believe in us along the way. We now have a team of 10 people and a growing real estate portfolio. We had several transactions that were ready to close and start construction when the pandemic hit. All of which could have evaporated if we did not stay focused and determined to get to the closing table. Something I have learned when facing a challenge is to break it apart one piece at a time instead of letting myself get overwhelmed with the enormity of the task.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All of the women in our industry and my business partner Lisa. There is actually a great group of women developers, attorneys, designers, and consultants that I have been fortunate to work with. Many of which have been incredible mentors to me over the last 10 years.
